Chapter 8 - Bolo's Beast Market

Based on the super ability knowledge or super ability memories that Jono obtained from his Abs while doing breathing techniques, he had to at least let the puppet absorb the magic energy from the beasts in order to awaken the puppet, but there was no knowledge or information that mentioned what kind of beast was required or what kind of super abilities that puppet could have. The absorption of a beast's energy was a method used by a person to increase their magic energy, body strength, or power level. However, this energy absorption could only be done for a short time when the beast died. If you waited longer, the energy in the beast's body would disappear, and all that was left was the corpse and bamen on the beast.

Even though beast bamen contains magical energy, humans can not absorb it, and the corpses left behind are usually used as nutrient-rich food ingredients; the higher the power level of the beasts, the more expensive it is.

Jono came out of his gym and went to the bathroom to take a shower. After taking a shower, he sat on the sofa in the living room.

Jono began looking for information on the beasts. Perhaps he could purchase some low-level live beasts. After a few minutes of searching for information online, Jono discovered a few things. In this city, there are rules regarding the sale of live beasts.

Only a few places in the outer area were allowed to sell them. Most places that sold them were in the central area, and the prices were predictably exorbitant.

"I started to smell the smell of poverty on my body," said Jono, somewhat frustrated.

Beasts are classified into four phases of power levels, like humans. Each phase is further divided into stage levels.

Ordinary beasts in the first phase have slightly stronger powers than humans in the first phase as well as the next, except for beasts that have intelligence like humans. A beast with human intelligence is far more powerful than an ordinary human at the same level.

In general, humans can balance the strength of beasts at the same level of strength in two ways. First, fight one beast with a group of people of the same level. Second, by honing combat skills and mastering super abilities.

Of course, the beasts that are sold are mostly only in the first phase and some in the second phase. Depending on the type and rarity of the beast, a first-phase beast that is still alive costs between 400 and 205,000 Rc.

"It's quite pricey, but I still have to buy it."

"If only there was no age limit and no power level limit to join in hunting beasts, I might try to join in hunting for sure," said Jono with a sigh. A person wishing to get permission to go out into the wild alone to hunt beasts must be at least seventeen years old.

"I have decided that I must purchase a beast in order to fully comprehend the scope of my super ability."

"They only sold beasts in certain shops in the commerce and business district," said Jono, while reading some information from his smartwatch.

"At least now I have to check how much money I have left over from my savings," Jono added.

Jono immediately used his smartwatch to check his savings online. Following that, a hologram screen with several lines of text and numbers appeared in front of Jono.

"Well, I only have 107,320 Rc left."

"I'll transfer 7,000 Rc to my data card then," said Jono while transferring savings from his bank account to his data card.

People under the age of seventeen cannot buy or sell without the use of an identity data card, also known as an "ID-Card." To save money at the bank using the bank card itself, but to be used for the buying and selling process, the bank card must first be upgraded to at least level 2, while Jono has not met the conditions to be able to upgrade his bank card, so he only has a bank card with level 0. Being seventeen years old is one of the requirements for upgrading a bank card.

The money transfer process can be done online with his smartwatch by scanning the bank card, but can only be transferred to the ID-Card of the owner of the bank account. Each ID Card can only save and pay with a total daily fund of 10,000 Rc.

Jono then tidied up and changed his clothes. He planned to go to the Commerce and Business District in the central area. Jono wears brown shorts, a long-sleeved shirt, and a pair of sandals, and also wears a plain black baseball cap.

Jono intended to purchase at least one living beast. After looking for information on the website, Jono immediately left for the Commerce and Business District in the central area.

Jono wouldn't go there on foot because it was too far. Instead, he went to a nearby public transportation stop to ride public transportation. Jono takes a bus-shaped public transportation vehicle with small wheels and makes the bus look like it is hovering a few centimeters off the ground.

At least it will take about one hour to reach the Commerce and Business District from the district where Jono lives. He read about beasts while sitting in one of the bus's seats.

From the outer area to the central area, the route will pass through the inner area. If the outer area has buildings with an average height of two to three stories, with the tallest building being as tall as a six-story building, the inner area has most buildings with a height equivalent to a five-story building, with the tallest building being as tall as a twelve-story building.

When Jono enters the central area, he notices buildings that appear to be even taller than those in the inner area. Buildings in the central area can be as tall as a thirty-story building or even higher. Jono was enjoying the new view from the bus as it moved towards the Commerce and Business District.

He was a little taken aback by the view of this central area. The view of these buildings was quite awe-inspiring to him.

When Jono arrived in the Commerce and Business District, he immediately walked while looking around. He noticed a row of tall buildings; the road passed by private and public vehicles; and a crowd of people passing by on the sidewalk.

Jono then began looking for a shop where living beasts were sold. He looked at the map on his smartwatch while walking in the direction he marked on his smartwatch hologram screen. This marked place was a place where live beasts were sold. There are several places that sell live beasts here. Jono chose the place closest to his current position first.

While walking, Jono started to get envious of people. He saw a lot of people using their cool super abilities. "Again and again, wherever I am in any public place, there must be someone who is showing off their super abilities," muttered Jono with a sigh of envy.

In fact, what makes Jono even more envious is that many of them have pets in the form of beasts. In fact, some live beasts that are sold are intended to be used as pets, so the price of certain beasts will be very expensive.

However, training beasts to become pets is a very difficult, complicated, and time-consuming task. Contracting the beast from the moment it is born or shortly after it hatches from the egg is one of the simplest ways to turn it into a pet.

Contracting will be difficult for beasts that are somewhat mature if they do not have a strong emotional bond. The services of a beast tamer or the like are usually required for beasts that are somewhat mature.

This contract can be executed by several methods. The methods that people often use are soul contracts, blood contracts, and magic energy contracts.

"If the materials used to make contracts are not expensive, I also want to have a pet," said Jono, shaking his head while looking at some people who brought pets.

Pets are interesting, but honing super abilities is more important for Jono. Jono kept walking toward the location he had marked on his digital map.

"This is the place," Jono exclaimed happily. The shop structure is shaped like a large dome and stands seven stories tall. The entire structure is a shop.

Jono entered a structure known as Bolo's Beast Market. This shop sells both living and dead beasts, as well as various types of bamen, basir, ordinary equipment, and magic equipment, but Jono is only interested in buying living beasts right now.

When Jono walked in, he was taken aback by what he saw. There were so many rows of cages, neatly lined up. Although the building appeared to be seven stories tall from the outside, it turned out to have only four floors on the inside.
