Chapter 27 - High School

Today, Jono plans to go to the Commerce and Business District again. After the morning training session and showering, he plans to find food or something to eat outside first. He is very bored with eating instant noodles continuously every day.

Jono stopped at a restaurant in the area where he lived. The restaurant has three floors with an aesthetic and simple eastern building design. According to the shape of the building, the interior of this restaurant appears simple as well.

Jono then ordered the breakfast package menu; this breakfast package includes a bowl of chicken soup and a cup of hot tea. He sat on the second floor next to the window. While waiting for his order to arrive, he observed the scenery around the restaurant.

Jono noticed many people passing by; most of them looked like they were showing off their super abilities. There is even a young boy the same age as him, who walks while transforming one part of his body like a beast that looks quite strong. The young boy showed off his super ability to show that he has the ability to transform into a cool beast.

There is also a young girl who walks with her guardian spirit. She looked quite proud of her kind of guardian spirit. The female guardian spirit looked like a humanoid beast that could walk on two legs. She even had the guardian spirit bring her groceries.

He sees many teenagers and even adults showing off their super abilities in public places. That's what made Jono lazy to walk out of his apartment. Actually, he also had plans to show off his super ability. But he canceled his plan. He felt very stupid to show off his strength if he could not protect himself.

"Before, when I hadn't mastered my super ability, I wanted to show off my super ability, but now?"

"After mastering my super ability, I feel it would be better to hide my super ability," he muttered as he watched the passersby on the shoulder of the road.

"But if it's just showing off one of my puppet's abilities, it might not be a problem."

"Anyway," he smirked, "I'm registered as a gravity element controller." Jono justifies the act of showing off himself by doing what he wants to do.

"But I can only show the super ability to control the element of gravity."

"What can I show from that super ability?"

"Until now, I could only use gravity field skills," he said with a sigh. Mastering the super ability to control the element of gravity is indeed difficult.

Jono finally decided not to show anything for the time being. Currently, he is still afraid of what happened to him a few days ago.

"I hope they don't look for me again," said Jono with a sigh.

Jono is aware of his current state. He is not from a powerful family or a well-known organization that can protect him if he gets into trouble. The thing that he can show in public is that he always carries a gravat sword in both hands without activating his gravitational abilities. Although Outan is currently in his body, precisely in his abs-space, for now, he wouldn't use his super ability in public unless he had to.

But lately, Jono no longer carries his gravat sword out. He is afraid that two robbers who wanted to steal his things a few days ago will recognize him if he carries his sword.

Jono is an orphan, at least that's what he knows and likes—that he was registered with the government. When He inquired about his parents, his grandfather always replied that they had left, but he never stated whether or not his parents were still alive.

Jono tried to remember the memory of his parents, but after several tries, he couldn't remember anything about his parents. Sometimes his head would hurt as he tried to remember over and over again.

After several attempts to recall things about his parents, Jono thought less and less about it. He felt he couldn't remember anything from more than five years ago. He only remembered what happened five years ago until now; everything before that was just like a blank paper.

Jono then did the breathing technique and got into his subconscious space or his abs-space. In his Abs-space, a mini-ape looks like it's playing alone.

For the following days, Jono always carries Outan in his body, precisely in his abs-space, when he goes out. He did this because the government registered him as an element controller.

After breakfast, Jono went straight to the Commerce and Business District. There, he sells leftovers that he doesn't need, including beast cages and leftover bamen that he doesn't use anymore.

There are still less than nine days before school starts, and today, Jono also received a notification regarding the class he will be attending. In addition, he also received a package containing his high school uniform.

West Witwur City has dozens of high schools, and Jono enrolled in an average high school called 014 High School of West Witwur. This high school is located near the district where he lives.

This West Witwur 014 High School is about five kilometers away from Jono's apartment. Each high school has three levels, or it can be said that it takes three years to graduate. In this 014 High School, each level has seven classes.

The seven classes are from [A] to [G], where [A] is the best and [G] is the worst. To enter class [A], a teenager must have a minimum of [B] aptitude. That is only a bare minimum because not all teenagers with [B] aptitude can enroll in class [A]. Class [G] contains the least talented young people as well as students with aptitude levels of [B] and higher who do not understand or master their super abilities.

Jono saw the email sent by an officer from his high school. After reading for a while, he pondered for a bit and slightly frowned. They informed him that he had decided to enroll in class [D]. Actually, he hoped to at least enter class [C].

"They admitted me to class [D]."

"This year seems to have a lot of talented students," he murmured, grimacing a little.

Jono actually doesn't care about this. The important thing is that he can enter the high school he wants.

Somewhere in the southern inner area of West Witwur City

In two-story houses like tropical villas. Two people are chatting in a particular room in the house.

"Today your school should have announced what class you're going to, right?"

"What class did you get, Nina?" inquired an elderly gentleman dressed in a white shirt with black plaid stripes, long black pants, and short, thick white hair. This elderly man had a thin white mustache and beard, which added to his dignity.

"Of course, I'm going to be a class [A] dad!"

"But why did you tell me to apply to that school when I would definitely be accepted into a school in the central area?"

"At least I would become one of the popular students in the inner area, why?" asked a young girl whose body looked more mature than her age. The teenage girl had a pretty face with her hair tied in a ponytail. He wore a slightly tight black shirt and trousers with a purple outer layer.

"I didn't even know."

"It was your grandfather who told me to register you there," said the teenage girl's father.

"Maybe because your grandfather used to study there, and he wants you to study there too because you are very talented," he continued with a little sigh.

"If you want to know why better ask your grandfather personally," continued the girl's father.

Somewhere in the western inner area of West Witwur City,

In a luxurious three-story building that looks to be made of sturdy metal. In the training room, who is big enough to play basketball.

"You don't need to study in high school; just being here will make you better."

"Why do you prefer to go to school?" asked a balding middle-aged man dressed in black formal attire.

"While you can go straight to university or an academy when you are old enough," the middle-aged man continued.

"Uncle, you know that I'm bored at home all the time," answered the young boy in black.

"At the very least, you have to register for high school in the central or inner area; why in the outer area?" asked the middle-aged man again, slightly perplexed.

"Yeah, I didn't expect that either, because I just registered randomly."

"I didn't mean to, uncle," replied the young boy with a slightly forced smile.

His Uncle: "(--_--)"

Somewhere in the eastern inner area of West Witwur City,

In a three-story building with traditional Asian architecture, many carvings of beasts adorn the walls of one of the building's rooms. There are currently two people chatting in the room.

"Less than ten days until you start school."

"Are you prepared?" asked a middle-aged woman with a beautiful mature face and an elegant body, accompanied by the clothes she was wearing that matched her stature very well.

"I'm completely prepared, mother," answered a teenage girl wearing a red dress with orange gradations and a fire motif.

Somewhere in the outer areas of West Witwur City

Many people are eating in a two-story restaurant that appears to be simple. Two people are eating and talking in one of the restaurant's private rooms.

A sixteen-year-old girl said, "Do your best in school."

"Okay, big sis," replied a teenage boy who was about fourteen years old.

And many more conversations like that or about the start of school are going on all over the city of West Witwur. Meanwhile, Jono doesn't think too much about what will happen at school later.
