Chereads / The 7th Queen / Chapter 18 - All Traitors

Chapter 18 - All Traitors

In the Castle's Hallways, Amelia walked ahead in a grumpy manner while Duke Phillip trailed behind her.

" Stay away from me Phillip I do not intend on going back to that traitor", spoke Amelia in distaste.

Ever since their return from the prison area, Phillip had been following and watching her every move as if believing she would return there.

She would never return there. She hated that traitor with every fiber in her and she did not wish to see her face.

" I know you Amelia... you say one thing and then do the other... I am not letting you leave my sight", Phillip replied her calmly causing her to turn and glare at him.

He cared non the less... he just stared blankly at her sorry looking state. Her brown hair was all over the place and her eyes looked as though she was soon going to burst into tears.

" Suit yourself then.., follow me if you want to... I do not care", she replied him with an annoyed expression on her face as she turned away but a voice stopped her.

" Where is my Daughter? she could not have done this.., let me see her", Duke Alfred yelled from the entrance of the castle causing the both of them to turn their heads in that direction.

They were standing in the hallway that led to Amelia's room which was occupied by few guards.

Out of the blue, Dino and Niklaus appeared from behind them and stared at the both of them with a questioning look.

" What's going on? ", Niklaus asked before Dino could and Amelia nodded her head subconsciously as if she had already understood everything.

" That traitor's Papa is here and he must believe that his daughter is innocent... I'll go make sure he realizes what his daughter has done", she answered Nik's question with a determined look on her face as she walked past Phillip who immediately followed after her not wanting her to cause trouble.

Nik and Dino followed afterwards. Even if Duke Alfred lets heaven and hell loose today, seeing Lady Roberts would never be possible.., he might just end up getting locked up as well, it has always been so.

Queen Amanda, the Second Queen and the mother of Amelia Carmichael was standing inside Amelia's room whilst staring at the sleeping baby boy who was all wrapped up.

She approached him steadily not letting her eyes ever leave his figure. They were the only ones inside the room as she had ordered the maids to leave them be with the excuse that she wanted to be with her grandchild.

She walked towards the bed swiftly lifting her right gloved hand as she aimed to touch the baby's face but she stopped midway in the air... then stared at the open window which occupied a side of the room.

She let her hand rest on her side and her gaze once again landed on the baby's soft sleeping face. Nothing would ever go to waste as long as she remained alive.

If Amelia thought all was over just because King Edward was dead then she was wrong. Obviously as her mother, Queen Amanda believed she would never let anything be just as it is.

Why bother if that useless man decided to leave early... then just do what was necessary. Name the child after the late King.. that would surely attract attention.

Yes he had been given a name, Jonathan... but that can be changed... and quite quickly too... and yes, Edward sounded much more better than Jonathan.

She smiled to herself at what brilliant thoughts she had. She smiled at the sleeping baby who rolled in his sleep before stopping and continuing his sleep.

She had switched the babies all for a good cause and she would never let that cause fail. " Just you wait.. Amelia, I have so much planned for my grandson... Edward", she stated to herself whilst smiling at the sleeping child.

Lady Elizabeth, Sam's grandmother, stared with pleading eyes at the faces gathered in front of the Castle's entrance.

The court officials, the young Prince and the Young Duke as well as his wife, stood there staring at her annoyed son who somewhat suddenly now behaved irrational.

" Please let him see his daughter just once... do not refuse him that right", she uttered in a soft pleading voice, her eyes speaking more than her words.

She was only talking because of Alfred.. she did not want him to cause a huge scene that would warrant his arrest...., she would never be able to bare it if she lost another child.

Why did that good for nothing grand daughter of hers not just die along with the King.. things would have been much easier.

" There is no way the Duke should be allowed to see the traitor, she...", one of the court officials who had brown hair started talking but was immediately cut short by Alfred.

" My daughter's name is Samaira and if you cannot pronounce that then you can just say Sam... Stop terming her a traitor because it has not yet been decided", he voiced out angrily but Amelia grew more angrier.

" Duke Alfred... your so called daughter killed my father... terming her the traitor is not just enough because you and your entire family are also traitors... you all plotted together and killed my father", Amelia shouted whilst pointing a finger at Duke Alfred and Lady Elizabeth

" Mind your language young lady", Lady Elizabeth replied, her pleading expression replaced itself with an ugly scorn after hearing the words which had been uttered by Amelia.

" You all are deranged... my daughter was not the only one at the castle that night yet you are all claiming she killed the King... it seems as though there is no other person to pin the blame on and you all succumb to blaming it on my daughter", Duke Alfred also stated whilst staring at the others with distaste.

" Then I must say since some of you were also at the Castle during the time it all happened... then you are also traitors... you also had a hand in the King's death", he deadpanned earning gasps from Duke Phillip, Niklaus and the others.

"Duke Alfred we are talking about my Father please be more civilized", requested Dino but his voice did not sound like a request, it sounded more like a warning.

Duke Alfred was not wrong in Dino's eyes but he did not want his father to stand out like some character in a story book or painting which everybody could suddenly talk about without respecting the fact that the man was once King.

" And I am talking about my daughter Prince Dino... she is innocent so just let me see her once", Duke Alfred said much more calmly this time... which sort of relaxed Lady Elizabeth.. she was truly scared that this would escalate into something more.

" If she is innocent or not would be decided tomorrow at the trial", Dino replied him with a severe look on his handsome muscular face.

" And as for you seeing her... we do not want anything messing up her trial and I am sure you feel the same way... a guard will be with you while you speak with her so watch your words Duke Alfred", he said the last part in a warning tone while Duke Alfred simply relaxed and so did Lady Elizabeth.

The Court officials did not argue with Dino's decision openly but they inwardly felt that he should have never agreed to Alfred's request.

This was simply him going against the traditions of the Kingdom and they wondered if the young Prince was even capable of running this Kingdom just like his father.

Far away in the Western side of Gael kingdom. An advanced looking man was having tea with his wife in their very comfortable garden. They both sat under an umbrella enjoying the beautiful rays of the sun.

The man had a head full of brown hair just like late King Edward and a pair of grey eyes as well but their faces were very different and compared to King Edward who had a built figure, the man had a slightly plump figure. He was King Edward's younger brother from a concubine... his name was Prince Anthony.

Seated next to him was his wife, Lady Priscilla Carmichael. They were both having some sort of inward celebrations... something good just happened and it was very much in their favor.

" My brother just passed away", Prince Anthony stated... more like deadpanned but instead of looking grievous, he burst into laughter and so did his wife.

" Our plan succeeded... now we must act on our next plan and pray it also becomes successful", stated his wife Lady Priscilla with an odd smile on her face.

Prince Anthony raised his tea cup in the air as if making a toast. " Good bye dearest Brother", he said solemnly but once again he started laughing out like a lunatic.

This news brought him joy.... abundant joy. His brother was finally dead and never to return, how amazing.
