Chapter 21 - Trial Day (1)

Stepping out of the carriage she just came in through, Lady Eleonora approached Duchess Lorena, who stood outside their Manor to welcome her.

Elle was dressed in a grey colored gown and her short brown hair was left to fall on her shoulders. She rushed towards her Mama in hurried movements and immediately embraced the woman.

Duchess Lorena returned Eleonora's hug as the sound of tears filled the atmosphere. " I came as soon I as I saw your letter Mama, what is going on?", Eleonora asked softly with a tear stained cheek which she immediately tried to wipe clean.

Duchess Lorena had sent letters to her other daughters through the Manor's messenger letting them know the situation of the family.

" I do not know Elle, I do not understand, a letter just arrived yesterday and it stated that your father should come to the Castle because Sam has killed the King", Lorena replied frantically, her expression holding confusion because she only knew half of the story and not everything.

She could not accompany the Duke and her mother in-law because, Lady Elizabeth had requested her to stay back saying that her presence there would be of no use.

And like the noble daughter in-law she had always portrayed, she stayed back, even though she so badly wanted to know how her child was doing.

" You do not understand Mama...? Then why are you here to begin with? You should be in the Castle already..., I live all the way in the south, you should not have waited for me", Lady Elle scolded after hearing what Lorena said. She thought that her mama had waited for her and she really did not find it necessary for her to wait.

Before Lorena could reply, another carriage soon rode into the manor's large front yard and stopped next to Elle's carriage.

The coach man who had ridden the carriage, jumped down from his seat heading towards the door of the carriage in order to open it.

But the door opened before he could even open it. 'Their Princess had been acting very weird since yesterday', he thought within as he saw Cordelia jump down.

Cordelia looked around only to sight her Mama and Elle standing together with a not so alright expression.

She had made for her journey the moment she read the letter, after all, her husband's Kingdom was not too far from Gael's. Her baby sister could never have killed the King, that just seemed so false.

" Delia", Duchess Lorena called out the moment Cordelia stepped out of the carriage.

" Mama, what is going on? I came as soon as I saw your letter, this cannot be true!", Cordelia voiced as she approached both Elle and Lorena.

" We do not have time to think about what is true and what isn't Delia, we must hurry to our sister", Elle exclaimed drawing both Duchess Lorena and Princess Cordelia's attention.

" We are not planning on heading to the castle blind Elle. What has happened? I demand and I have a right to know", Cordelia argued with all seriousness in her voice whilst a curious look adorned her pretty soft features.

" Elle is right Delia, right now Your sister needs us, besides I have stated all I know about the situation in that letter I sent... if we must know more, then we must hurry to the castle, goodness gracious, I hope your sister is okay", Duchess Lorena argued back.

" Let's go", she exclaimed hurrying over to Elle's carriage and the coachman who had been standing by the side opened the door for her.

Turning to Cordelia, Elle stared softly, " Are you not coming with us Delia?", she inquired with a frown on her face whilst Cordelia simply nodded.

" Of course I am coming with you, it is important to be there for Samaira, trust me, I want to make sure she is okay", she replied Elle before staring at her carriage.

" Return back to the Castle, if Prince George asks, tell him I won't be returning any time soon alright", she instructed to her coachman, in reference to her husband while the coachman nodded obediently.

She followed afterwards to Elle's carriage and they both got in. The coachman from Elle's carriage closed the door and quickly headed to his seat to start leaving.

" Uncle!", Prince Dino called out with respect to the plump looking man who had just stepped out from a very expensive carriage a little farther from the castle's gates and closed to the building.

Accompanying the man was his wife and daughter, Lady Priscilla and Lady Katerina.

Dino crossed the space that separated them in hurried footsteps immediately enveloping the man in a tight embrace once he arrived.

" Am glad you came", he stated genuinely as the man returned his embrace with a genuine smile.

Prince Anthony patted Dino's back softly before breaking their hug, " I know you need me Son so I came as soon as possible", he stated softly to see Dino nod in acceptance. Anthony could not be any less glad about the Prince's humility.

" Besides, I regarded your father as though he were my true brother, surely you must understand that this will also affect me too", he continued once again and to his pleasure he saw Dino nod in acceptance.

Leaving his uncle's side, Dino moved over to Lady Priscilla and he gave her a simple kiss on her gloved hand.

" I am sorry for your loss Prince Dino". She stated sympathetically, whilst Dino smiled feeling touched that his Uncle's wife was kind enough to show up.

" Nice meeting you again Lady Kate", Dino said drawing her in for a nice hug as though she were Maurine and she blushed from ear to ear at that gesture. Clearly, she didn't think of him in the right way at least.

" The pleasure... is mine Pri..nce... Dino and I am sorry for your.... loss", she stated almost stuttering out of nervousness and he simply touched her head in a nice gesture.

" Why don't you all get settled in? Uncle, you too, we will talk later, I give you my word", Dino suggested as three maids came to attend to them after just saying it.

Prince Anthony smiled at him before walking over to the entrance of the Castle accompanied by his wife and Daughter with the maids in front.

He was happy that he had established a good relationship with Dino a long time ago, now that cunning Prince would never even know what hit him because the person he trusts so much will definitely be the one to back stab him.

Dino remained standing in the Castle's front yard staring at the large building in front of him. It was so huge and magnificent, also very attractive from the outside with the way it was curved but the people inside were as good as traitors.
