"Why is taking a walk after dinner so refreshing " Liana breathed.
"Because you had too much to eat," he said.
She turned with a frown, "Don't start "
He scoffed, "Sorry, but you seemed so stuffed I thought you needed some air "
"Your father kept eyeing me, that the only thing I could do was keep my eyes on my food," she said.
She moved to the bench next to the flowers & looking up at the sky she smiled.
"No stars, down here," she said.
"We do, it's just a dark night today," he said sitting down next to her.
"I used to wish upon them every night for my life to be normal like all my friends, but nothing changed until I decided to do it myself," she said.
"And did you succeed?" he asked.
She gave him a nod, "I did so it could suit me better "
He fell silent and looked up to the dark sky with her, a smile appeared on his face just having her there beside him.
"What was our first meeting like?" he asked
She scoffed, "It was terrible "
"Terrible?, did I do something to you?" Xavier asked.
Turning away from the sky Liana moved to him.
She smiled at him "I still remember that night like it was yesterday, I thought I was going to die as I fell down but then everything around me stopped for a second and your arms grabbed "
Xavier gazed at her as she recalled their first night. The little details she made when speaking fascinated him.
"The gush of air around me had changed as the scent of roses surrounded me but the force of jerking me away blacked me out " she giggled, "When I awoke you were bandaging my wounds and I called you the grim reaper "
"And what did I say?" he asked
"That you were not but I guess that was half a lie cause your father is the king of the underworld. " she laughed
He scoffed, "But I didn't, those reapers are from another part of the underworld. I know them but am not one of them "
Liana gave him a nod, "Then I guess there are parts of this place I haven't seen "
"Yes, mother only showed the part she rules, the part you can't see or reach is where Father's powers are used," he said.
She sighed leaning back, "I want to lose my memories like you, cause I don't think the pain of losing you and this child won't consume "
"But I will be there with you "
"We both know you won't, your father just got you back he won't let you leave and your mother said that our child will soon leave us ".
Xavier's hand grabbed hers, " Liana, I might not remember the first day I saved you or all those memories you made with me, and am sorry I was so weak that they were taken away. But you gave me a second chance by coming here and I won't let it go I promise " he said.
Gently she pulled away, "Yes I came here for you Xavier but during the time I have been here I noticed how you have another life in this place. You're a different person and seem to enjoy what your doing. Everybody loves and adores you and your parents are here with you, so why would I want to take you away from this "
She got up and he followed, "Since you let go of our life you have nothing to come back to with me. You will only be half of the man you were if I take you. Am glad I got to see you again this one time and knowing our child will keep you company when am gone "
"What do you mean Liana, I thought you claimed to be in love with me?" he grabbed her arm
"I do Xavier, with every fiber in my body that's why I would be selfish If I took this from you, it's your second chance to fix your relationship with your father," she said.
He closer to her pulling them closer, his eyes stared into hers but no word came to form his lips.
She smiled hugging him, "Dont fight it love, I know you're tired but things didn't work out. It's okay maybe if we are given another chance we will meet in the next life & I hope it would be better than all our first," she said.
His arms tightened around her and she breathed in his scent.
"I don't know what to say " he muttered.
She scoffed, "I love you too, Xavier, " Liana said.
Gently her lips brushed over his left cheek while pulling away.
Without turning back Liana walked away. He looked as her shadow disappeared.
"I love you, Liana " he whispered.
