Liana opened her eyes, she had drunk a lot last night now her head hurt.
"Xavier" she called grabbing her nightgown, Liana walked down the stairs. She could hear the noise from the kitchen, "he making breakfast this early " it was the weekend so she had no work today.
"Xavier, I think I drank too much last night. I had the weirdest dream " she said walking to the kitchen and opening the fridge for some water, "Actually it was more of a nightmare, I dreamt that your father was here " she giggled drinking some water from the bottle, and then turned to where Xavier was standing.
"Are you listening?" she asked.
"Yes, I am " a deep voice different from Xavier's answered, and when he turned Liana moved back almost checking on her water.
"Liana?" Xavier's voice called from behind her. He had just returned from the gym.
She ran to his side, "Xavier I don't think it was a dream, isn't that your father? and how could you leave me here with him?" she grabbed his arm.
Xavier felt her nail dig into his skin, he sighed, "Am sorry you were still sleeping and he would not leave "
Liana looked back to see the same golden eyes as Xavier staring back at her. But his were different something cold and evil seemed to stare back through them. She looked away instantly.
"Did you tell him to make breakfast?" she asked.
Xavier held her hand and walked to his father who was smiling at the both of them.
"Woman I think you mistook me for my son," he said.
"Am sorry about that, sir. You both look alike a lot" she said. Their white hair, golden eyes, and sharp beautiful features were similar but different also.
"Don't call her that, her name is Liana Arkness" Xavier said.
"My apologies Son, it's your fault for the late introduction," he said turning to back to Liana. , "Your one elegant gem, I see why my son doesn't want to depart from this plane "
Liana confused about what to say just smiled back.
"Hungry, I made us a morning meal," he said.
Liana frowned moving back, "he doesn't like me I see it from the way his eyes stare at me and on top of that, he has killed me many times for centuries to stop me from being with his son so what will stop him now? Liana thought as she looked up at Xavier and then back at the food on the table. I mean he could have poisoned the food, they are both immortal so they won't die but poor me, I will die instantly "
Xavier's father chuckled, "I promise it will taste better than my son's cooking," he said.
"Oh, better than Xavier " Liana laughed awkwardly. So he knows I made his son my personal chef, am I in trouble?
"Father don't compare us and your making her uncomfortable " Xavier said noticing Liana turn pale.
"But we both know it was my cooking skills that your mother fell for me" he laughed.
Liana turned to Xavier whispering, "You have a mother? why didn't you tell me?" she asked.
But before he could answer his father did, "Of Course, he has a mother where do you think my son came from. And the underworld also needs a Queen " he said
Liana smiled, "Am sorry I asked a silly question. He just never speaks about her at all "
His father sighed, "They are both indignant at each other, but am sure with you here my son will mend his relationship with his mother "
Xavier scowled, "Enough about us, Father. Let's eat "
Liana sat next to Xavier while his father sat at the head of the table.
Liana could not deny his cooking skill were better than Xavier but she could not say it. And he had made more dishes than necessary. It was more of a feast than breakfast.
"This chicken is so tender on the inside and crispy on the outside, it's so good " Liana commented.
Xavier's father chuckled watching her eat, while his son frowned.
After breakfast, they cleared the table. Liana wanted to escape to her room upstairs so she could take a shower and change, she was still in her pajamas. But the two men had seemed to enter a staring contest with her knowledge.
"Okay will you two stare at each other, I will be up taking a shower " she whispered into Xavier's ear.
.....
"I have told you, father, am not going back with you," he said.
"Your mother and everyone else wishes to see you and ack with us. So why are you hesitating?" his father asked.
"You clearly know the answer to it but you keep bothering me. After letting all these centuries pass by why do you all want me back now?" he said.
"We just need you back, you can carry her along if you wish to. Just come back with me " his father said.
"Hear your self father you want me to destroy the life of the woman I love. Liana has her own life and so do I. I have nothing back at home so I would rather stay here with her than go back there " he said.
Liana had finished her bath and changed, quietly she had come down the stairs and eavesdropped on their conversation.
"Avel, don't test my forbearance. You know what will happen if I get irritated " his father burst out.
Xavier got up, "You can go back to your kingdom you choose over me and never return. I never want to go back there. She's the first woman I have loved for all these centuries alone and you want me to leave it all behind? Never ,I rather die by her side than leave her " he said.
"First? Yes. But not the actual one " his father chuckled.
Liana knew what he meant cause of what Gerald had told her.
"What do you mean by that ?" he asked
His father sighed and moved his golden eyes to where Liana was hiding then back to his son.
"You don't remember 'cause I made it that, just so I could see you suffer for what you did. But now that you're being stubborn am going to have to do it again but with a little bend to it," he said.
Xavier frowned watching his father get up and touch his forehead. Liana jumped out of hiding and ran to the living room. She paused seeing Xavier blackout and his father's smirk on his face.
"When he wakes, you should say your farewell to him, 'cause he will be retreating home with me," he said before turning into golden dust and vanishing.
Liana rushed to Xavier's side and held his unconscious body.
"And why would I do that, Xavier would never leave with you," she said.
"I comprehend you know his earlier story with Trinidad and how he kept echoing the same thing over the last centuries," his father said, "He doesn't even know about it cause I twisted around with the truth in his head and watched him make the same mistake over and over again".
"But why would you do that to your son," Liana said.
"He disobeyed me and ran off with her, such a disgrace. So he had to pay and her soul, I could not let it rest she was the cause of all of it after all" Liana could see his golden eyes burning with anger.
I made sure she suffered every lifetime and just so my son would stop me, I made sure he would not remember after she died. She became his reset button.
But I guess her soul has finally grown tired of the agony and decided to fight back through you. You the exact replica of her, everything about you just reminds me of her. Your red hair before she died, her black eyes, and her captivating smile lured my son away.
You even have power over him that you can summon my son at your free will and your souls are connected too now.
"What do you mean?" Liana asked.
"It means if you die in this lifetime, my son exists no more too," he said.
"What your making this all up so he could leave me "
He laughed, "I don't have the pleasure of that woman, the only thing I want is my son to survive and that can only happen if he leaves with me. But he seems to wrap around your figure to think for himself "
"That's all nonsense, stop lying and please leave us alone " she shouted.
He turned to her and smile turning into golden dust he vanished, Liana heard his voice saying, "Until our next encounter, Trinidad "
