"Boss it seems everything went well, the guest loved our products" Joy whispered to Liana.
"I noticed, they have been coming to me for tips and advice on what to use for themselves, especially the women " she smiled.
"Did you see that traitor, I mean how bold could she be to come here " Joy pointed at Tracy among the guests.
"Cheap popularity, the company she joined was our last year 's competitor " Liana laughed, "She thinks with them she can get anywhere, I feel pity for her ".
"Ohh, Miss Arkness I loved those shades on the model with green, it was amazing " the organizer of the gala hugged Liana.
"Am glad it was to your liking, we simply did our best " she said.
"My friends would love it if you shared some tips and don't worry I will make them support you in the future," she said.
Liana giggled, "It's my honor to be of help to them " and she led away.
Joy looked up at the quiet Lucian.
"You have been so quiet these past days, is something wrong?" she asked. He was staring at his sister who was smiling among some guests.
"Am just wondering what my sister is thinking about keeping that man in her home. Ever since they met nothing has been normal around her " he said.
"But we both know, boss's life has never been normal" Joy answered.
"I know but her boyfriend is far from abnormal, first it was him being supernatural and then now even his father has got into the picture. I don't believe in all that reincarnation shit they keep talking about cause Liana isn't anyone else but Liana my sister ".
Joy sighed, "You say that cause you feel you might lose her but you know Liana has never seen herself as just that. Her childhood was painful and even her existence scared her sometimes".
Joy turned her sight to where Liana was standing, " She is smiling but we know the pain and guilt is eating her away. After all these years she finally finds answers to her questions through him and when she thinks they have a chance at a future, his father appears and does this. The pain of seeing him like that is killing her but the feeling of guilt thinking it is all her fault is even worse "
"She has refused to talk to us and just hides at work " Lucian muttered.
"I want her to be happy, her life has been in the darkness for too long am afraid she's got used to it now " Joy scowled.

"Am glad you had your fill " she said then went quiet.
Lucian glanced at Joy, who shrugged at him. He sighed and drove off back to her place.
After dropping her off they left.
Liana walked into her apartment, "Love am home " she said.
Dropping her heels at the door, she pulled off her coat and walked up the stairs.
"Sorry am late, I had a lot to take care of at the gala," she said walking to her bed, not expecting an answer she stopped when his voice replied.
"You look heavenly," he said.
