Chapter 31 - Chapter Thirty One

Nora woke up the next day, her mouth felt sore and she wondered why all she could see was darkness. She tried to open her eyes but they refused to open. She wanted to touch her eyes only to find out that she couldn't move her hands and her legs couldn't be moved too. She tried screaming for help but no sound was coming out.

She tried to think about the situation she was in when she remembered what had happened last night. The men she met were on masks and she couldn't identify who they were. Why was she being kidnapped? Who has a grudge on her that is taking it on her like this? She asked herself.

"I think we should feed her." She heard a voice say. It was a male's voice. She tried to listen to hear if the voice was familiar but she couldn't.

"I think we should wait for him to come back." Austin answered White.

"Do you think she will be alive by then?" White asked Austin who burst into laughter.

"Not eating for half a day won't kill a person." Austin answered him.

Nora was listening to their conversation. She was starving already and here those that took her are debating on whether she'd eat or not. How was she going to survive this?

"Why don't we put a call to him?" White asked while bring out his phone but Austin took the phone from him.

"It's supposed to be a surprise." He told him. "Let's go." Austin pulled White outside the room and locked the door.

"Are you sure we shouldn't feed her?" He asked Austin again.

"Sometimes, I wonder if you are interested in her."

"She looks delicious if that's what you mean." White licked his lips.

"You can have her after Mike is done with her. Let's go and grab some drinks."

Nora tried to wriggle out of the bed but it was like they tied her hands and legs to the bed. She thought about her phone and she remembered that it was smashed to the ground. Her thought went to her brother. He must have been worried sick about her.

"Dear God, please have mercy." she prayed silently. Her stomach was aching her so bad that she wasn't sure how long she'd stay.

Kelvin was surprised to see that Nora wasn't at her desk. He walked over to Diego to ask about her but Diego was as surprised as he was.

"I left her yesterday afternoon, maybe she overslept." Diego told him.

Kelvin knew Nora doesn't oversleep because she takes her job seriously but he had no idea what to make out of this.

"Or maybe she spent the night at Sara's place." Diego added when he saw that Kelvin was in doubt about his first assumption. "I will put a call to her now." he brought out his phone and called Sara. Immediately she picked up the call, he put the phone on loud speaker.

"Hi, Diego." she greeted. They could hear the enthusiasm in her voice.

"Hi, Sara." Kelvin greeted.

"Oh!" was her only response until she went silent.

"I want to know if Nora had a sleep over at your place last night."

Sara was confused. "No," she answered. "Why do you ask? Didn't she come to work today?" she asked.

"Yes," Diego answered.

"I will call Andrew and ask him." she ended the call and put a call through to Andrew.

"I have been calling you throughout the night." Andrew answered her.

"My phone had a flat battery. I forgot to switch it on when I was charging it. Is Nora home?" Sara asked.

"I was just about to ask you about her." Andrew answered.

"Didn't she come home last night?" Sara asked.

"No, she didn't. I thought she spent the night at your place and forgot to tell me about it."

"No." Sara answered. "I just got a call from Diego."

"Is she at work?"

"Diego said he hasn't seen her." Sara checked the time on her wrist watch. "This is almost 11a.m, how come she isn't at work or at home?" she asked but there was no response from Andrew. "Do you think something bad happened to her?"

"Let's meet up at her work place. You can tell Diego about it. It's too early to assume anything." Andrew told Sara before ending the call.

Sara called Diego to give him the feedback. "Her brother hasn't her seen yesterday night."

Diego looked at Kelvin who was also looking at him. "Do you think something..."

Kelvin shook his head. "It's too early to make assumptions."

"Nora isn't this kind of person that will just stay away without letting anyone know. I think something bad must have happened to her." Sara said. "Anyways, Andrew is coming over to meet you guys and I will be there as soon as I round up things over here."

"Okay! See you later!" Diego ended the call as he and Kelvin pondered on what could have gone wrong.

Michael was just coming to work and he could sense something was wrong but since he wasn't in talking terms with either of them, he went to his seat but he kept glancing at them. He could see their mouths moving but he had no idea what either of them were saying.

A lady walked up to Diego and whispered into his ears. "Thanks a lot, Hallie," the lady bowed her head before leaving. "Nora's brother is downstairs. Would you like me to handle this alone or..."

"I will go with you." Kelvin answered and they both went downstairs.

Michael was surprised at what was happening. He was surprised to see that Nora wasn't seated on her seat. He stood up and peeked at the window and he saw Andrew with Kelvin and Diego. He was also surprised when Sara came to join them.

What the hell is going on? He asked himself. A text came through his phone, he brought it out and saw a message from Austin asking if he'd be coming to the hideout today.

Michael replied no and put his phone back into his pocket and focused on what was happening outside when another text came in.

"We have a little surprise for you." was the text Austin sent.

"This better be worth my time." he replied back.

A photo of lady being tied to the bed both hands and feet appeared. Michael was shocked.

"Guess who it is."

Michael thought about what was going on. Andrew in his condition coming to her workplace. Sara also here and the whole thing started to fit in. He later realized who the person was. "I will be right there." he texted and immediately left the office.
