Chapter 33 - Chapter Thirty Three

It was late in the evening, Kelvin was on his way home. He decided to stay a bit late while Diego left home early before him. He entered his car and drove off.

He was calling Nora on the phone but her number wasn't connecting. Where are you, Nora?

He tune in the radio to listen to a song. He needed it to get his mind off Nora. He reached a route where he had to stop his vehicle. There were people gathering somewhere in the middle of the road.

Two people walked pass him and he overheard their conversation. "I can't believe it's that same girl in the video. I wonder what could have happened to her."

Girl? Video?

He didn't need any more information to know that the person was Nora. He got out of his vehicle and rushed to meet them. He told the onlookers to excuse him and when he got to where Nora was laying down, he took off his shirt and convered her body with it.

"You all can go now." He waved them off with his hands. Some murmured before leaving while others stood to take photos. Kelvin didn't mind the words they were saying. He carried Nora in a bridal style and took her to his car. He placed her on the back seat while he got into the passenger's seat and drove off.

He put a call across to Sara. Her sleepy voice made him smile a little. "This better be urgent."

"Oh yes it is."

"is this about work? Can't it wait tomorrow?"

"I have found Nora."

Sara was mute for a while. "What did you say?"

"She will be spending the night with me. Tell her brother about it." He ended the call before Sara would bug him with questions. He looked behind him and he found Nora still sleeping.

He wondered what she was doing on the street but it was a question he would ask her when she wakes up.

He parked his car and carried her into the house. He was surprised to see his dad and Deigo still wide awake. His father was the first to cast him a weird look. He knew what his father was looking at. "And who's that?"

Kelvin felt a huge lump stuck in his throat. This is the first time he's bringing a lady into the house.

Diego walked up to him and saw that it was Nora. His happiness knew no bound. He was foolish for having an issue with her that night. He had been regretting his action and he couldn't stop blaming himself about the whole thing.

"I will be right back dad." he took Nora upstairs and Diego followed after him. He couldn't stop asking him questions.

"How did you find her? How..."

"Stay here with her while I go to attend to dad." Kelvin placed her on the bed and left.

Diego came closer to her and touched her hair and face. Even though he was happy to see her, he was sad that she was kidnapped after their argument. "Nora," he called before holding her hands together. "I am sorry for letting you go like that. I was just so into you and I thought that you feel the same way but I was wrong to choose my friendship over my feelings. I hope you will find it in your heart to forgive me."

He was apologizing to her repeatedly when she screamed. "Stop! Stop!!" Diego tried to get her to wake her up but he couldn't. "Please, stop! Don't do this to me, please!" She continually begged.

"Nora, open your eyes." he told her while shaking her repeatedly but she didn't. "Nora, it's Diego, open your eyes."

Nora's eyes opened and she was surprised to see Diego beside her. "W...wh...at... H...how...?"

"Shh!" he helped her to sit up. "Kelvin brought you in. What happened to you?"

"What happened?" Kelvin asked as he barged inside the house. He rushed to meet Nora and asked if she was okay and fine. Nora nodded. "I was hearing her scream, what happened?"

"She had nightmares." Diego answered. Nora knew they weren't nightmares because they happened to her. "I think she needs to go back to sle..."

"No, I can't go back to sleep..." she shook her head repeatedly. "...I...i...don't want to go back to sleep. Please, don't send me back to sleep." She pleaded and tears rolled down her cheeks.

Diego and Kelvin looked at each other. They were confused at Nora's new behavior. "What did they do to you?" Kelvin asked with worry written all over his face.

All Nora could do was weep. How would she tell them what has happened to her? How was she going to tell them that Michael took away the one thing that really mattered to her? How was she going to tell them that her own boyfriend was the cause of her misfortune?

If only tears could be understood. If only tears had meanings written on them, it'd have been easier to get the words out without her having to say anything but it's not possible.

"I think we should let her be for a while," Diego suggested and Kelvin nodded.

"I will go back to dad while you stay with her." Kelvin said before leaving to meet his dad.

He was surprised to see his father standing at the door. He quickly shut the door and pulled his father away.

"What is she doing in this house?" Mr Owen asked. "Isn't that the girl that her video circulated the whole city? Do you know what this will do to your reputation?" He paused to catch his breath. "Is she not Michael's girlfriend? Is it not because of the video Micha..."

"Michael is the reason for all this." Kelvin cuts in. He was tired of his father painting Michael good when he is nothing but a wolf in sheep's clothing. "He should have just broken up with her like every normal guy would but he didn't. He went to the extreme of..." Kelvin couldn't get the scene out of his head. "...Michael isn't all as good as you paint him to be even though he's my friend and we've done shits together, this was overboard and I won't sit for it."

Mr Owen was confused. "You mean Michael..."

Kelvin nodded. "She's suffering, dad and all I can just do is be there for her. I can't take back the humiliation she feels but I can help her get herself back."

"I had no idea and I was hating the poor girl for nothing." He touched his shoulders and smile. "She's free to stay as long as she wants."

"Thanks dad."

Kelvin nodded while he watched his father leave before going back to meet Nora and Diego in his room.
