After hearing what Chris said, Jack decided to make his move to get this scammer out of the house.
He walked behind her, put his lips close to her ear, and shouted in as deep of a voice as he could muster.
"OUT!"
Suddenly hearing a loud menacing shout while waiting for her prey to walk into her net made her face pale as she jumped out of her seat in fright knocking her chair over and whipping her head over her shoulder in the direction of the sound.
She saw nothing.
She took a few steps back in terror. She clearly heard and even felt the person's breath on her ear, but there wasn't anyone there.
The couple themselves were standing frozen in fear, while Angelica was safe behind her parents looking around innocently for the person who shouted.
"Who was that?" Angelica asked in confusion when she saw no one else around.
Knowing this wasn't enough to get her out, Jack manifested as a mist and moved toward her.
Seeing a dark mist forming out of nowhere and coming toward her, Chris's face twisted in realization and even more terror as she realized this place was actually haunted.
She must have pissed it off by daring to say she was going to get rid of it.
"Ahhhh" Chris shrieked as she started running toward the front door. The couple meanwhile grabbed Angelica and took her to the opposite side of the room furthest from the mist.
Angelica looked on curiously as the weird lady ran.
"Mommy the weird lady is running in the house!" She tattled on Chris as she ran desperately away.
The couple glanced at each other and then at Angelica in dismay at her childish lack of fear of the mist.
Jack who had spent the rest of his energy forming the mist for so long felt great exhaustion and then suddenly he was full of energy again accompanied by a ding.
[Level up]
Jack was excited and checked his status.

He must have scared the fake medium and the couple a lot to get 30%. Maybe spooking fresh blood increased his percentage.
As the medium reached the door she cried out to the couple.
"The spirit is too strong, I can't help, sorry! My services are nonrefundable!" she then proceeded to open the door and run out of the house as fast as possible closing the don't behind her.
The couple saw the mist disappear and was about to go to the front door but stood still as they heard her words and not even a second later they heard the door shut behind her.
They looked at each other in dismay. While Angelica started giggling.
"Mommy, can your friend visit again, she's funny." Angelica spoke her wishes while thinking how weird the lady was.
"I don't think she'll want to come back..." David mumbled.
Sarah smacked his arm in admonishment and looked at her daughter and said.
"Why don't you go back to your room sweetheart."
Angelica pouted but listened and started walking back while Sarah sighed in dismay and asked her husband.
"What now..."
"I don't know." David was disappointed with how this ended up. With that money down the drain, he didn't want to even try and spend more just for this to happen again.
"I'll start dinner early." Sarah said disappointed as she looked for something to distract herself from reality.
"Ok honey, I'm looking forward to your great food." David sweet-talked his wife to cheer her up.
Jack meanwhile felt great with his level up and didn't know why they were so down. He saved them a ton of money after all.
He watched as Sarah started dinner and David watched television. He put his hand on his chin while in thought and decided that since he has energy again he might as well use it.
He grinned in mischief and walked to the couch, focused his will to manifest as a shadow figure, then walked in front of David past him and sat down next to them, and then turned to look at him, looked at him for a few seconds before he ran out of energy and dispersed.
David froze in alarm as he saw a black mass pass in front of him snf then sat down next to him, out of the corner of his eye he saw it look at him. frozen in fear he hoped that if he didn't visibly react, it would think he couldn't see it.
Sure enough, after being stared at by it, it disappeared. As soon as it did he heaved a huge sigh of relief and sank into the couch.
Jack stared at him in amusement.
'Just because you can't see me doesn't mean I can't see you.'
Jack ignoring the idiot, opened his status and checked his exp.

Satisfied with the gain he started watching the television with David.
About an hour later Sarah came out and called David for dinner and then went to Angelica's room to get her as well.
David who heard his wife tired the television off and went to the kitchen and sat down. He waited for a short while before he was joined by the rest of his family and they all ate together.
"Dinner was delicious as always." David continued to sweet-talk his wife after they finished.
"Yeah, it was yummy mommy." Angelica smiled sweetly and mimicked her father.
Sarah didn't think much about David's compliment, used to his glib tongue after all these years but after hearing Angelica she let out a small smile.
"Thank you, sweetheart." Sarah reached out and patted her little head.
Angelica closed her eyes and enjoyed the intimacy of her mother.
The family got up and went to the living room.
"How about a movie?" David suggested to them in hopes that family bonding will relieve some stress.
"I wanna watch the movie 'Princess of ice'!" Angelica raised her hand and started hopping in excitement.
"I'm down." David said and looked at his wife for confirmation.
Sarah nodded and she and Angelica sat down while David put the movie on.
....
A few movies and hours later, The family had a snack because of the early dinner, and after that, the family played a few games for a while before the couple put Angelica to bed.
Jack regained most of his energy as he watched the family do their nightly routine. He debated on whether to do anything but decided to just relax until morning before he did anything to allow the couple to get a good night's rest.
....
Unfortunately, life had different plans tonight. A few hours into the night, Jack was laying on the couch and pondering the mysteries of life when he suddenly heard a faint creak coming from the front of the house.
