Chapter 1 - Are You Out Of Your Mind?

"Mum! Mum! Please, I beg you, you can't do this to me! You can't throw me out! Please don't throw me out of the house! "

A young girl of twenty years pleaded, but the mother, who wasn't going to budge, grabbed her by the arm and proceeded to push her out of the house.

"I can't have a stupid daughter like you in my house! You don't contribute to anything! Every fucking thing is on me, and it's not like you're going to become someone better in your life!"

"Look at yourself. You're a depressed drug addict and you expect me to keep you in my house?!! Oh no, that will not happen."

"I can't have myself struggling with the horrible job that I have and come home every day to feed a grown-ass woman like you! No! I will no longer do that. You're on your own now! Find what to do and take care of yourself."

"If you end up losing your life out there, then it's just your misfortune and bad luck. I mean, it's not like your life isn't horrible enough in this godforsaken world!"

She yelled and, completely shattered by her words, the young girl's heart dropped to her stomach.

"Mu-mum…"

"Yennefer, please leave. The more I see your face, the angrier I get."

Mrs. Bellegard scowled at her, and Yennefer stayed still, staring at her, hoping that everything happening was just a dream.

However, it dawned on her when her mother slammed the door right in her face and locked it.

"Mum!! Mum!! Open the fucking door! You can't do this to me! I am your daughter. Mum, you can't do this to me. Please!!! I beg you."

She banged heavily on the door, but her mother, who had an indifferent expression on her face, ignored her like she was invisible to her.

"You can stand there, hit the door, and soak in the rain for all I care."

These were the last words she heard from her mother before she helplessly turned around and began to walk away under the heavy cold rain, abandoning her bag of clothes that was outside the door.

Where was she to go now? She had little to no one. She was alone in this world and even the two people that brought her into this world had forsaken her.

A look of amusement emerged on her face, and out of nowhere, she began to laugh crazily, with deep pain in her eyes.

"Gosh!! Why am I suffering like this? What did I do wrong to deserve this hateful life?!"

She wailed in deep pain and used her hands to wipe off the tears rolling down from her eyes.

She was a completely miserable girl without a family, friends, talk of a boyfriend, nothing at all!

The only person she had was her best friend Andy. Only he cared for her and wanted the best for her, but even yet so, it changed nothing in her life.

Her heart hurt heavily within her and she screamed loudly, wanting to let out all the pain and frustration she was feeling.

She broke out into a cry and began to stagger down the road with bubbles of tears busting and streaming down her cheeks.

Right now, there was only one place that she could go to, and that was her father's house.

But then again, she and her mom were not wanted in that house because of a horrible crime that her mother committed, so she is not even sure that they will let her in, even if it's just for the night.

A deep breath exited her nose and she walked for at least thirty minutes before she finally arrived at a huge white mansion that screamed wealth.

She stopped in front of the black gate and reached out her finger to press the doorbell.

It ranged, but just like she expected, no one came out to open the door for her.

She clicked the doorbell again, but just like before, nothing happened.

'AHHH!!! Open the damn door!!" She shouted, and when she saw that even her scream couldn't bring them out, she looked around and grabbed the heavy long stick she saw on the ground.

Tears flowed from her eyes and, with all the strength in her body, she lifted the stick and slammed it heavily on the black gate, causing a very loud noise to resound.

"Father!!! Come on out!! Your cast-out daughter is back! She needs you!" She screamed, hoping that he would come, but just like she thought, he didn't.

"Father!" She yelled yet again and heavily struck the stick on the gate. "Please come out and see me!"

She implored and proceeded to hit the gate again, but the gate, however, pushed open, causing her to halt and raise her head to look at the man who brought her into this world.

That one man who cold-heartedly pushed her away, hated her, and wanted nothing to do with her.

"ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND!!"
