Chapter 11 - Getting the Marriage Certificate

Sean went back to his room to take a shower. He lay in bed to sleep and thought about Deanna's words. Deanna's gentle and childish face appeared in his mind. Although nineteen was a sufficient age for marriage, it was still too young for him. However, because it was to take revenge on Austin, it was not impossible to marry in the name alone, without actual marital status. It was only five years, and he didn't want to be indebted to anyone else.

A few days later, Deanna was intent on resting and recuperating. She barely opened the door to her room and went outside. Felicia called her out but was refused. She wanted to recover from her injury and get Sean's reply as quickly as possible.

Sean was very busy during that time. He didn't return to the main house daily, so Deanna didn't see him often either. When Deanna finally didn't have to bandage her forehead anymore, she couldn't wait to call Sean over to say the wound had healed.

Even though Sean didn't return to the main house every day, the housekeeper would report Deanna's situation to him. He knew that although Deanna no longer needed the bandages, she had not fully recovered. Deanna just wanted to urge him to reply as soon as possible.

Since there was no time to return to the main house, Sean asked Mr Mark to have a driver take Deanna to the Johnson family company.

Deanna entered Sean's office and then sat on the sofa while she waited for the man to work. After Sean finished handling the paperwork in his hands, he got up and sat across from Deanna.

Sean looked at Deanna and said, "Five years of marriage or half of my assets, you can only choose one. If you choose five years of marriage, you have to sign a prenup and not get any of my property. Do you need some time to think about it?"

"No need to think, I will choose a five-year marriage," said Deanna immediately.

"In reality, if you want to avenge Austin, there is no other way than marrying me. You can take my money and live a happier life under my protection than him. Even though he's my son, you are my savior and I won't let him hurt you because of that. "

"Whatever you think about the reason I want to be married for five years, my choice will not change," said Deanna firmly.

"Okay." Sean opened a document and placed it in front of Deanna, saying, "Since you insist on this choice, please sign this prenup. During the wedding, I will cover all your needs and give you an allowance every month. After five years, all property is in your name. will always be yours."

Deanna looked at the allowance amount on the agreement and raised her eyebrows, saying, "Mr. Johnson is very kind."

"Compared to what you refused, this money isn't even big."

"No matter what you say, I won't change my mind." Deanna immediately signed the prenup and placed her fingerprint on the electronic screen.

After signing the prenup, the next step is to register the marriage.

The next day, Deanna receives a marriage certificate from Sean. She finally got married, giving her the feeling of an unreal dream.

Deanna sat in the car and stared at the marriage certificate for a while. She slowly turned around to look at the man sitting at the side, thinking that she had married this man and become a legal partner with him.

Sean also turned to look at Deanna. His divorce from his ex-wife was almost ten years ago. And because it was a business marriage, they were both forced by the family. In the end, they divorced because they were bored. Little did Sean know that after years of divorce, he would remarry a woman younger than him. Although only five years of marriage, his life in the second marriage has officially begun.

As soon as Sean returned to the company, Deanna called Felicia and told her she had a new home and wanted to pick her up for a visit.

Felicia thought Deanna had bought a new house and wanted her to take a look. She thought Deanna was joking when she was told that Deanna was married and that person was Austin's father. However, after seeing the marriage certificate of the two, she thought her jaw would drop from the shock.

Deanna wants to take all the things stored in the Felicia family home and move them to the Johnson family's main house on Mount Wallace. Sean told her that as a legal spouse, she would also become a co-owner of Mount Wallace over the next five years.

Deanna and Felicia were already heading for the mountain, and coincidentally, Austin invited his friends and Clara to play there. He invited them on purpose to embarrass Deanna.

People who used to be friends with Deanna and Felicia, but are now friends with Clara, were chatting around the indoor pool at the Johnson family home.

"Austin had been with Deanna for over a year before, and had never invited us over to the main house. Now he just started dating you and invited us to play. The difference is too big."

"Austin and Deanna were just messing around. He and Clara were dating because they were getting married, they were even getting engaged soon. Of course there's a big difference."

"Deanna doesn't know what's good and what's bad. Feelings relate to both sides. And if you don't love, you can't force it. What's the point of humiliating yourself and making things ugly? Wouldn't it be better to part without blaming."

"Yes, if they part without enmity, they can still be friends. Angering Austin is just too stupid."

"That's because I didn't want to hurt her, so I kept it a secret and tried to find a good opportunity to tell Deanna. But I hurt her anyway." Clara smiled helplessly. "I'll apologize to her later, so she shouldn't be that angry anymore."

The others looked at each other, thinking this was hard to say. If you don't want to hurt, you shouldn't do such a thing from the start. But because they had chosen to submit to reality and stand on Clara's side, these people naturally wouldn't speak their minds. They quickly changed the subject to talk about other things.

On Austin's side, his friends also talked about all the things he had done for Clara recently.

"You're not being serious right now, are you? Are you really going to get engaged to her?"

"Yeah, it's still too early to get engaged, even though you like her a lot."

"I have decided that she is my true love. I won't marry anyone but her, so it's not too early to get engaged now." Austin finished and looked at Clara.

"But even if your grandfather agreed, are you sure your father would agree?"

"Yes, even though you grew up beside your grandfather, you are after all your grandfather's grandson, not his son. What would you do if your father didn't approve of your engagement to Clara?"

"Even if you give Clara money to open a company, the gap between the two of you is still too big. From a family perspective, you are completely different."

"Even though your father doesn't care about you at all, I don't think he will agree with your engagement to Clara."

"Even though it's hard, I will fight for my own happiness? I am first an independent man, and second only then as my father's son. I am responsible for my own life, and no one can interfere with my freedom of marriage!" Austin said confidently.

"My father only has one son and hasn't remarried in years. Apart from me, who else could he bequeath such a fortune to? Was he going to give it to my cousin who doesn't know how to study and can only eat, drink and play? Anyway, I'm definitely getting engaged to Clara."

The others looked at each other. They felt he was very serious this time from Austin's look and demeanour.
