Chapter 16 - Holding a Wedding

Sean suddenly opened his eyes, turned to look out the window, and found the sky was already evident. He could fall asleep when a headache hit him and even sleep until dawn. He looked at the incense on the table and found it a little unthinkable. Although the headache did not completely go away, it was not as painful as last night after getting a good night's sleep.

Sean glanced at Deanna, still sleeping, curled up on the sofa opposite him. Standing up and going around the table in the middle, he crouched down and saw Deanna's sleeping face. Ever since they met, there had been many questions that had left Sean baffled. However, he was in no hurry to find out the truth. Maybe it was all just a coincidence.

Sean lifted Deanna off the couch and put her on the bed. He did not want to wake her up, but as soon as he touched Deanna, she woke up instead.

"It's morning?" Deanna asked, her eyes only half open.

"Yes." Sean laid Deanna on the bed, then looked at her and asked, "Do you still want to sleep?"

"Don't want to sleep anymore." Deanna sat up and rubbed her eyes with the palm of her hand. She asked Sean, "Did you get any sleep last night?"

"Yes." Sean replied.

"Is that true?" Deanna said with a smile. "It's good if the potion has an effect on you. I also often suffer from insomnia, so I made a special incense stick for myself. We can use them together in the future. However, I smelled something wrong with your body last night. Besides insomnia, there must be something else that feels uncomfortable in your body, right?"

"Smell something wrong with me?" Sean looked at Deanna, confused.

"Yeah, when you sat on the sofa last night, your body must have been uncomfortable. It can produce a smell, and I can smell it."

Deanna pointed to her nose and said, "I have a very sensitive sense of smell and can smell things that ordinary people can't."

Sean thought about Deanna's words in silence. As far as he knows, in conventional medicine, doctors rely on observation, hearing, and questioning to diagnose disease. In addition, some diagnose the disease by listening to the breath and smelling the patient's body odour. Moreover, to become an aromatherapist, you must have a good sense of smell and smell.

"Am I wrong?" Deanna purposely asked in response to Sean's silence.

"You're not wrong. I wasn't feeling well yesterday, so I couldn't sleep."

"Then can you tell me what's wrong with you? If you go into more detail about it, maybe I can make some incense to help you feel better."

"We'll talk about that later." Sean looked at the clock and said, "I'm going to the company now. The staff from the wedding planning agency will be here today, so tell them what kind of wedding you want. First, determine a time and place so they can send out invitations immediately." said Sean.

"Okay, I understand." Deanna felt confused, but she understood why Sean did not want to tell her. If it were herself, she would not immediately believe that a headache that could not be cured before could be treated by someone who was not even a professional aromatherapist.

Sean ran a hand through Deanna's hair, then got up to go to the bathroom.

The folks at the wedding planning agency recommended many places to Deanna, including several properties belonging to the Johnson group. So many hotels and resorts are suitable for Johnson's group weddings, but Deanna chose to have the wedding in the main house on Mount Wallace.

Deanna did not want to hold the wedding anywhere else because it was too much trouble. Her marriage to Sean was just a contract, so she did not want to spend too much time on it.

However, they were furious when Austin and his uncles found out that Deanna had decided to have a wedding in the main house. They felt that Deanna was trying to show off in front of them.

On the wedding day, all the guests will submit their invitation letters to the space provided at the entrance. Only then can they go up the mountain.

Deanna had a cold relationship with her father in her previous life, so she did not invite Dante and Gloria to her wedding. Her uncle and aunt came uninvited but could not go to the venue without an invitation.

The guard at the entrance reported to the housekeeper, who then sought instructions from Deanna. Deanna told the housekeeper to kick them out.

Seeing those strong bodyguards in black suits and sunglasses, Deanna's aunt and uncle did not dare to make a fuss. They left embarrassed and scolded Deanna back.

Austin takes Clara to the wedding. Clara looked around the majestic hall in a highly complex mood. After she and Austin were publicly together, she always hoped to marry Austin in the Johnson family's main house one day.

Unexpectedly, Deanna had already achieved her dream by marrying Austin's father. Austin told her that his father's marriage to Deanna would not last long. However, Deanna would be an elder after she got engaged to Austin later. Their relationship was too messed up right now.

Austin initially did not want to go to a wedding he disapproved of. However, he did not want Sean to have a reason not to agree to his engagement with Clara. For that, he not only attended alone but also brought Clara.

As the wedding officially began, Deanna took Sean's hand and walked from the red carpet to the altar, to the sound of music and under everyone's eyes.

This was Clara's first time seeing Sean. Seeing Sean's appearance clearly, she could not help but freeze. She had always thought Sean was a middle-aged version of Austin, but Austin and Sean did not look alike!

She did not expect Sean to be so much more charming and handsome than Austin. He looked like he was only thirty-one years old. He did not look like someone who was nearly forty years old at all.

Austin did not want to see the two people standing at the altar say their wedding vows. He turned his gaze to Clara angrily and saw the dumbfounded expression on Clara's face. He asked, "What is it?"

"You do not look like your father–" Clara had not returned to her senses and subconsciously told the truth.

"Actually, I don't look like my mother either. I'm more like my grandfather and uncle." Austin looked back at the altar.

Clara saw Sean's deep facial features, perfect body proportions and height, and strong-looking figure. Not only did he have the charm of a grown man that one could not take their eyes off, but he was also imposing and elegant. It could be said that looking at his appearance and other factors, he was a perfect and seductive man. Even though Sean was her boyfriend's father, her heart was still beating fast.

Clara previously firmly believed that Deanna married Austin's father to take revenge on her and Austin. However, seeing Austin's father in person, she became unsure of her thoughts. Such a charming and perfect man; someone wants to marry him because their heart will permanently be moved. Moreover, at this moment, there was envy in Clara's heart.

"Did your father really marry Deanna because she wanted to separate us?" Clara asked in a low voice.

"Apart from this, I can't think of any other reason at the moment. They couldn't have married because they loved each other," Austin said.

"That is to say, how could people who had never previously been in contact with each other suddenly fall in love?" Clara did not know if she was trying to cheer herself up. However, after she said it, she subconsciously felt relieved.

Deanna and Sean finalize their wedding vows and then exchange rings. After the two-person put their rings on each other, Deanna looked at Sean and waited for a kiss from him.

If Sean just kissed Deanna's forehead or cheek under everyone's gaze, it would likely cause Deanna to become the subject of negative talk. So Sean held Deanna's face and kissed her lips. Blocking her face from people's view with his palm, he kissed Deanna gently.

Their lips pressed against each other. This was Deanna's first kiss in two lives, but she did not consider it a real kiss. She was looking forward to the day Sean kissed her, showing that Sean loved her. Deanna was sure that Sean liked her in her previous life because one day, when they looked at each other, Sean slowly approached to kiss her but suddenly turned his head when their lips almost touched.

*

Sean felt the softness of Deanna's lips. He felt that Deanna's whole body was like her lips. It was beautiful and soft and carried a sweet fragrance from her body, like the scent of babies and the most fragrant flowers. It made it impossible for Sean not to like her.

After the wedding vows and the ring exchange was over, Sean invited Deanna to greet the guests.

Even though the two have registered for marriage and recently got married, many people hope they will divorce soon. Apart from Austin and his grandfather, those attracted to Sean also want them to separate quickly.

Deanna knew her life after marrying Sean might not always be calm and smooth. However, she was ready to face anything.

"Austin." Deanna stopped Austin, who looked like he wanted to take Clara straight away to avoid them.
