"So you just asked him for my number and he gave it to you?"
"Yeah." She replied and I didn't even know what to text back. I thought she was lying about the whole Tony thing, not that I was sure but it seemed so.
"Okay." I just texted back and a
was about to drop my phone and go back to sleep when she texted again.
"So, what are you doing?"
"About to go to sleep, goodnight." I made to go off the chat app when she texted again.
"Oh okay."
"Did you save my number?"
"What did you save it as?"
I didn't want to reply her at this point, I somewhat felt irritated now, I don't know why. She was okay but I felt pestered by her everytime since I knew her just days ago.
I ignored her message and put down the phone on the drawer before settling back in bed, drawing my blanket over my legs and past my waist.
I heard the notification sound beep from my phone again; why won't she stop?! I still. ignored it and was about to close my sleepy eyes when it beeped again and again, it was beeping repeatedly now. How could she be texting that fast.
I reached for the phone and put the notification sound on mute before returning it to the drawer top. I needed to sleep, I had more classes than usual tomorrow.
I tried to close my eyes again but my phone started to ring this time. I stretched my hands trying to reach the phone again but I couldn't touch after touching almost all top part of the drawer, it was like the phone wasn't there but it was....I mean, I just kept it there myself just now.
It was probably had to reach because I had my eyes closed and didn't want to open them so my sleepiness wouldn't leave me but now I had to because the phone kept on ringing, it wouldn't stop. The once in a few times I didn't have my phone's ringtone on mute or vibrate.
It stopped ringing, thankfully. It was nighttime, I knew I couldn't have my phone ringing loudly like that. That and the fact that Dylan was sleeping on his bed, close to mine.
I stopped trying to get my phone and relaxed in my bed, not bothering to check who it was until it started to ring again. Fuck.
I sat up this time, angry and annoyed, I picked up the phone and looked to see who it was. It was an unknown number. Ann? nahh, it wasn't her. Jessie! It was Jessie. You have got to be kidding me. What the fuck was wrong with her?!
I declined the call and immediately went to my settings to put my phone on silent. Just immediately after I did that, her call came in again.
I hissed in relief that I had already put my phone on silent just now and didn't even have to decline her call. With that, I returned the phone to the drawer top, I was going to let it ring on, she should get tired of calling and retire the idea.
I fluffed my pillow and after that, I was back at trying to sleep, I needed it, I needed to sleep so bad now.
*****
Morning.
"Fine! fine! I'm awake already, jeez!" I yelled when Dylan wouldn't stop hitting me with his pillow.
He finally stopped, holding the pillow up in the air above my face in case I decided to close my eyes again. He had being hitting me with the pillow to wake me up after he attempted waking me up the first time by just shaking my shoulder.
Earlier, when he first woke me up, I sat up then and he went to take his bath since his first class was some hours earlier than mine. He came back to find me back in bed with my blanket pulled up to my neck. It was when he saw me still sleeping that he began using the pillow.
"I don't trust your 'i'm awake', get up." He said not keeping the pillow down.
"Fine." I said getting out if bed while stretching my arms. I now regretted asking him to wake me up today. He threw the pillow to his already arranged bed after seeing me not in bed anymore.
I went to the bathroom to brush my teeth while he continued dressing up for his lectures.
"Yeah, I almost forgot, who was that calling your phone like that last night?" I heard him ask from the room as I was about to put toothpaste on my brush.
"Oh, that was Jessie." I hissed in annoyance, remembering last night.
"She has your number?"
"Somehow, yes."
"How does she have your number if you didn't give it to her?" Came another question from Dylan.
"I don't even know," I said with my brush in my mouth."She said it was a Tony guy but I don't believe her." I said pausing from brushing my teeth to finish my sentence. I heard him laugh from the bathroom where I was.
"You really got yourself one, Jerry." He said, still laughing.
"Mannnn, of all the girls to be interested in me, it had to be Jessie." I said after spitting in the sink.
"What do you mean? She's alright if you ask me." I heard Dylan and I had to go over to the bathroom's door to face him.
"Really?"I asked him, standing at the bathroom's entrance.
"Yeah, I mean she is not as bad as you put her and you know it. She is pretty, she is smart; she even asks questions during lectures and she is hot, like damn sexy. You just won't give her a chance because of Ann."
Honestly, he was right, Dylan was right because Jessie would definitely have had a better chance at me if Ann wasn't in the picture but after last night, I knew that even if Ann wasn't on mind I would still say no to her.
"Pretty, she is, I won't lie about that. Smart, I don't know but she is the crazy type."
"And Ann isn't?" Dylan said picking up his crossing bag from his bed. I just shook my head to disagree with what he was implying.
Ann wasn't crazy, she was okay. How could he think she was crazy? Even if she was, she was the good kind of crazy, the likeable kind I guess because I liked her and everything she did.
