Mira told Mei about her world, a place of magic and wonder where she had spent her entire life. She explained how she had always been curious about other worlds, and how she had set out on a journey to explore them.
Mei listened with rapt attention, nodding along as Mira spoke. When she finished, Mei leaned back in her chair and let out a low whistle.
"Well, you certainly picked an interesting world to explore," she said. "This place can be pretty overwhelming, even for those of us who grew up here."
Mira nodded, feeling grateful for Mei's understanding. She had been worried that Mei would think she was crazy for coming from a world of magic. But so far, Mei seemed to be taking it all in stride.
"Is there anything you can do to help me get back home?" Mira asked, her voice hopeful.
Mei shook her head. "I'm sorry, I really don't know. I mean, there are plenty of people in this world who are into magic and stuff, but I don't know how they'd be able to help you get back to your own world."
Mira's heart sank. She had been hoping that Mei would be able to help her. But it seemed like she was on her own.
"Well, at least I have you to help me get acclimated to this world," Mira said, trying to sound optimistic.
Mei smiled. "Of course! I'm happy to help in any way I can."
They spent the rest of the day exploring the city, Mei showing Mira all the sights and sounds that this world had to offer. Mira found herself growing more and more fascinated with each passing moment. She had never seen anything like this world before, and she couldn't wait to learn more.
As the day wore on, Mira began to realize that she was getting tired. It had been a long journey to get here, and she hadn't slept much on the way. She yawned and stretched, feeling her eyes droop.
Mei noticed her exhaustion and smiled sympathetically. "You look beat," she said. "Why don't you come back to my place and rest for a while? You can stay there until you figure out what to do next."
Mira hesitated for a moment, unsure if she should trust Mei. But then she realized that she had no other options. She nodded gratefully, and Mei led her back to her apartment.
It was a small, cozy place, with bright colors and lots of knick-knacks scattered around. Mira felt a sense of relief wash over her as she entered the apartment. It was nice to have a place to call home, even if it was just temporary.
Mei showed her to a small guest room, and Mira collapsed onto the bed with a sigh of relief. She closed her eyes and felt herself drifting off to sleep.
As she drifted off, Mira couldn't help but think about everything that had happened to her in the past few days. She had left her world behind, with no way of knowing if she would ever be able to return. And yet, she felt a sense of excitement building within her. This world was full of possibilities, and she was determined to explore them all.
With that thought in mind, Mira fell asleep, ready to face whatever adventures lay ahead.
