Chapter 4 - Magic in the Modern World

Mira sat in her room, staring at her hands. She had been in this new world for a few days now, and she still couldn't believe that magic didn't exist here. She had grown up with magic, had been trained in its ways, and had relied on it her entire life.

But here, in this world, she was just a regular person.

She closed her eyes and focused her mind. She reached out with her senses, trying to tap into the magic that she knew was there, somewhere.

At first, nothing happened. But then, she felt a spark of energy in her fingertips. She opened her eyes and looked down at her hands, seeing a faint glow emanating from them.

She smiled, feeling a rush of excitement. She had found a way to tap into her magic, even in this new world.

She stood up and walked out of her room, eager to explore the possibilities of her newfound power. She walked down the street, feeling the hum of the city around her. She saw people going about their daily lives, walking their dogs, pushing strollers, chatting with friends.

She reached out with her senses again, trying to find a source of magic in the world. She felt a faint pulse, coming from a nearby park.

She walked towards the park, feeling the energy grow stronger with each step. She reached the edge of the park and looked around, seeing a group of children playing on the swings.

She focused her mind and reached out with her magic. She felt the energy flow out of her hands and towards the children. She saw the swings start to move on their own, higher and higher into the air.

The children laughed and squealed with delight, not realizing that it was Mira who was behind the magic.

Mira smiled, feeling a sense of satisfaction. She may not be able to use magic as freely as she could in her own world, but she could still use it in small ways, to bring joy to others.

She continued to walk around the city, using her magic in small ways whenever she saw an opportunity. She made flowers bloom, brought rainbows to the sky, and even made a street performer's guitar play itself.

As the sun started to set, Mira felt a sense of exhaustion. She had used a lot of energy today, and she knew that she needed to rest.

She walked back to Mei's apartment, feeling a sense of gratitude for this new world that she had found herself in. She may not have magic at her disposal, but she had found a new kind of power within herself, one that she knew she could use to make a difference in this world.
