The kingdom of Anitca had grown colder, and snow was falling from the sky constantly, but that didn't stop anyone from carrying out their duties.
In the spacious, opulent throne room, six heavily built men stood in front of the throne with their heads lowered. They all had long hair and elven ears.
Cyrus was seated on the throne reading a letter while Ashton was standing beside him wearing a stern expression.
Seconds passed, displeasure became evident on Cyrus' face and the letter in his grip froze up in nothing but solidified hard ice.
"Fools!" Cyrus yelled and flung the hard ice into one of the men's head.
Ashton's brows rose in shock as he watched the man's head split in two places and his body fall to the ground.
The remaining five shook with fright and dared not lift their heads, while Cyrus appeared furious.
"I am dealing with brainless fools!" Cyrus got up from his throne and gave the men a homicidal glare.
"W.. we apologize yo.. your Majesty." One of the men stumbled, enraging Cyrus, who pulled the sword from Ashton's sheath and fired it into the man's head.
"Do not apologize to me!" He growled, his eyes turned into their silver reptile like form.
The man fell dead and remaining four fell to their knees making sure their heads touched the ground.
"One thing! Just one thing and that is to guard the portal that leads to the realm of ferocious untamed guardians beasts but you all fucked that up!" Cyrus roared and sat back on his throne digging his hands into his hair in frustration.
The men in front of him were portal elves, keepers of doors that opened to small worlds that had formerly been created by strong supernatural beings. A number of supernatural entities have previously engaged in drastic occurrences, and if the enemy couldn't be destroyed, they would be exiled into another realm. Some of such worlds served as prisons, others as safe havens for beings who couldn't live in the current world.
Antica was the location of the portal leading to the world of the guardian beasts. The world was filled with beasts like Venus, Ares and Snowflake, the untamed ones. Unfortunately, a guardian beast had escaped and was somewhere in Antica.
"I have enough problems to deal with." Cyrus mumbled rubbing his forehead. "Get out of my sight!" He thundered.
Ashton blinked being affected by Cyrus anger. The portal elves all stood up and hurriedly dashed out of the throne room.
"You should not have killed those two," Ashton muttered and immediately regretted his words when Cyrus glared at him.
If glares could kill, Ashton would have been in hell at that moment.
"Get rid of the bodies and take over the meetings today." Cyrus stood up, running his fingers into his hair.
Ashton was stunned.
"The lords for the east, west, north and south are coming today, your majesty." Ashton informed with a gasp.
"Postpone it." Cyrus hissed walking down the few steps of stairs.
"What?! Until when?" Ashton couldn't believe his ears. It was a very important meeting.
"Until the parrot gets better." Cyrus replied nonchalantly and walked past him, out of the throne room.
Ashton was stunned and extremely confused. "What parrot?!"
...
"Please just take a spoon my queen, you will feel better." Ava begged Sage who looked pale almost like a corpse.
She had been attempting to give Sage medicine since she entered the room and felt Sage's body, which was unusually hot. Her hand got burnt in the process that she had to bandage it.
"No," Sage whispered weakly, playing with her fingers.
She had woken up feeling weak and sick. She knew that it was because of the mark of lust.
Cyrus had told her that resentment took a lot of energy which meant that there was no medicine that could cure her.
"My queen please just take a spoon, his majesty will kill me if he knows that you are sick." Ava begged trembling.
"Don't worry, he knows." Sage uttered breathlessly.
Ava was taken aback then relaxed. "But the medicine..."
"Go away please." Sage interrupted.
Ava's eyes widened as she felt hurt. "Yes, my queen." She bowed her head and opened the door to see Cyrus in front of her.
Her heart almost came out of her mouth when she received a hard glare from him. "Y..your majesty!" She bowed her head.
Sage closed her eyes knowing that Cyrus was at the door.
"Bring our breakfast." Cyrus told Ava who choke on her own spit.
"Our?" Her voice came out tiny.
"I and my wife's breakfast. Are you deaf?" Cyrus growled, pushed Ava aside and walked into the room.
"Do not waste time." He added impatiently.
Ava immediately ran out of the room closing the door behind her.
Cyrus walked towards the bed to see Sage's eyelashes trembling.
She was terrible at fake sleeping.
He didn't sleep in the room last night but he stayed long enough to stop her once more from sleep walking to death. When he returned at morning, he found out that she had fallen seriously sick which was something he had predicted and of course, no medicine could heal her. She would be sick for a month or more if her resentment increased.
"Do you crave my warmth?" He asked calmly.
"Yes." Sage replied without hesitation.
"Hmm, come." Cyrus outstretched his hand and her emerald eyes fluttered open.
She took her time to stand on the bed and gazed at him for a few seconds. "You are loving this aren't you?" She asked before walking towards him.
Cyrus smiled. A smile that brought out his dimples. "Of course dear parrot."
"Filthy creature." Sage scoffed at him and wrapped her arms around his neck while he wrapped his arms around her tiny waist.
"No one looks at a filthy creature like that," He taunted staring deep into those lust filled eyes.
"If you look carefully, it's not lust but hate." Sage hissed at him.
"Either way, I am still the only one in your mind and you carry me in your heart." Cyrus whispered caressing his nose against hers.
Sage felt short of breath and inhaled deeply. The man was stuck in her head but was he in her heart? He was Pathetic.
"Cyrus Dragos, do you want me to carry you in my heart?" Sage asked curiously and stared at him anticipating an answer.
The smile on Cyrus' face disappeared and he asked, "Do you want me to say yes?"
