Day 1 (8):
Well that didn't take nearly as long as i had thought that it would, the sun was only approaching it's midpoint in the sky, so i'd say i was really only digging for 2 hours at the most?
But in that time, i had made a modest one floor dungeon, with snaking pathways, and a smattering of small rooms with some basic traps laid inside.
Due to the materials on hand i could only manage to create pitfall traps, and some falling object traps, but for a beginning it's not to bad if i do say so myself, the labyrinth itself is very confusing purposely so as its one i memorized once from a favorite rpg game that was an absolute nightmare to map out when i was playing the game.
at the end of all this was a series of 4 rooms, one used as my room, the second is a workshop with the forge and workbench installed, third was the kitchen / dining room with the stove, and simple table installed, and lastly the fourth room, well it's empty right now, but let's call it a jail, since I'm certain to need one to eventually imprison the stalker whose followed me all the way out here once again.
For now lets just call it her room of all things, course I'll never tell her that.
But with half a day gone, my home is setup so next comes what i'm actually here for crafting!
With my new sources of materials housed in my new home I'll need to collect thread from the spiders often while also tending to them.
With that i can start to create better traps by utilizing the threads as a tripwire, if I can manage it I might be able to create something akin to a loom to create better clothing as well, and well lastly would be the possibility to make this spiders silk into a bowstring for ranged attacks.
Well that's still an in the future type thing, as it stands for right now i should be doing my best to further my crafting so it's about time it fire up the ole forge.
As it stands i still only have the pair of copper weaponry, and with the new knowledge from my study session on my half day off from the game i'm itching to test out my new techniques.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As the forges heat was increasing and a nice bed of coals was formed, i managed my time by creating a large stone bowl this will be my medium into which i will melt my metals, though as it stands right now my only metal options would be Copper, Iron, or Silver.
Since my immediate need is for stronger tools i'll be working with the Iron, specifically i need to create some blacksmithing tools if possible, first of course being a hammer, and a small anvil with both of those i can then smelt iron bars, and forge them into more custom pieces rather than having to cast them, though casting is much simpler.
To begin with my first bowl setup, the fire raging, and the clay pulled from my inventory was shaped to have a series of negatives molded into their forms.
With a small heap of iron bits loaded up into the bowl it was lifted up and placed into the center of the forge, further stones were placed to prevent the heats escape as much as possible, while the constant fanning of the coals helps to increase the temperature ever further.
This constant motion was boring since it was all i could do while staring at the bowl contained within the forge.
Slowly but surely the heap of grey metal bits started to lose their form, as they all ran down and melting into a glimmering puddle of the heat of the coals being truly transferred over to the metal as it took on a radiant form.
Molten iron, so deadly but also so useful ones i was certain every last bit of the iron has melted down thoroughly.
I broke down the simple stone wall, allowing me access to reach the stone vessel containing my latest creation.
Using crude wooden implements i raised up high the bowl of molten death, before tipping it's contents into the negative clay molds, watching as the river of orangish red liquid chased it's way through the molds before a ripple doubled back once it reached the far end of the mold.
With that done the bowl has finished it's purchase so i set it aside to allow the remaining iron to cool, before taking out a second bowl, this one was smaller but already has a brownish tint to it's rim and interior.
This was my copper smelting bowl i used during my first smelting attempt, into it i poured a good heap of the copper bits i had earned, and lastly just like the iron it was tossed into the raging flames of the forge.
And like that the first day of my return to Elysium passed, a world where i was free to craft whatever i wanted.
After having broken the molds and freeing my newly created items, letting the forge burn out, and lastly of course cooking up a delicious meal that would make up for having missed lunch.
I layed my self out on the bed i'd setup in my room of the dungeon, it was far underground without any real sources of light but i could see just fine in the dark, i assume that means i picked up dark vision, or night vision as a skill.
'Yawn'
So with that i layed back, closed my eyes and focused for that moment when my status would appear before my eyes, so i could see what had changed before going to sleep.
