The jet carrying William and Philip landed at a private airport; they both were ready and got out. William was talking to someone on the phone; meanwhile, Philip was waiting for him in the car. Getting impatient, he honked at his wife to hurry up.
William saw his urgency and sat in the car, "what's wrong with you? I was on the call with Alex." William said.
"Why were you on the call with Alex?" Philip asked.
"He just wanted to know that we landed safely," William replied, pouting and ballooning his cheeks at Philip.
He didn't reply to William and quickly started the car and drove off. During the drive, Philip asked William, "when will you visit the doctor?"
"I'll visit him when I take care of everything at the house," said William.
"What do you need to take care of?" Philip said in confusion.
"Well, I was bought up and taught as an Omega, so they told me what I needed to do in these situations," William replied.
"Who are "they"? Philip asked his eyes on the road.
"The school and teachers, I might've gone to a public school, but they taught us how an Omega should behave," William said to him.
"You should just be my wife and give me an heir; then, you can do whatever you want," Philip said.
"Who will marry your siblings and take care of the estate?" William asked sarcastically.
"Well, obviously you are, but your top priority would be to give birth," Philip replied.
"I don't wanna talk to you anymore," William replied.
"Sure, sweetie, whatever you want," said Philip.
"Did you call Henry?" William asked Philip.
"Whatever for?" Said, Philip.
"To tell him about this situation," said William, frustrated.
"I'll tell him later," said Philip.
"And when will you tell Mrs. Harrison?" William asked.
"I'm sure she already knows about it," Philip said.
William sighed in disbelief and stayed quiet; he knew that Philip was going through something, and pressing him more could only escalate problems for him. Philip, who was clearly annoyed with his wife, sighed in relief when he stopped talking.
Their first marital spat happened, and how are they going to get over it? William, who was taught how to be a good wife and an Omega, is clashing with his husband, who was an Alpha and was bought up like one.
They stayed quiet the rest of the drive and didn't say a word to each other. When they arrived at the house, Alex was waiting for them at the front door with servants; Philip stopped the car in front of his brother and opened the door for William. They both got out, and William hugged Alex, "is everything okay?"
"For now, the doctors said that this might be his last night," Alex said, hugging William.
"Don't worry, your brother and I are here, and where is Sarah?" William asked Alex letting go of the hug.
"She cried herself to sleep," Alex replied.
"I'm gonna check on her; why don't you talk with your brother?" William said.
"I'll talk to him. Let me help you get settled down in your room and have your things unpacked," Alex said, avoiding his brother, who was talking with the guard about something.
"I'll take care of our luggage and get settled down in the room. Do not worry about me. You go talk with your brother," William said.
Alex, who couldn't avoid talking to his brother now, nodded at William and walked to his brother. Philip saw him and dismissed the guards, "who else knows about this situation?"
"Only a couple of people," Alex said.
"Are they to be trusted?" Philip asked.
"They all belong to the household staff," Alex replied.
They didn't know how to communicate and stood silently beside each other. Philip cleared his throat and said, "look, the last time we talked, things got pretty heated."
"You mean the last time you gave me an ultimatum to choose between my father and alcohol? I remember that." Alex said.
Philip was dumbfounded for a minute but said in a firm manner, "Listen, I'm just saying that I'm proud of you for how you handled this situation and stood by everything."
Alex looked at his brother suspiciously and said, "After a couple of days of marriage, and you suddenly changed; I must say, wow."
"You say it like I used to make you work without pay, and who wouldn't get pissed off when they found out that their little brother is drinking until he blacks out," Philip exclaimed.
"I'm just saying you could've been a little more understanding," Alex said to Philip.
"There's no time for understanding," Philip said, his voice filled with concern.
"What is it? Did something happen?" Alex asked in a panic.
"I'll tell you when you start working. For now, enjoy your time. You don't have to be worried about things when I'm here," Philip said to Alex and patted his shoulders.
Alex stood there thinking about what his brother was talking about while Philip walked inside the house.
William and Mariam were talking to each other, but they stopped when Philip walked in. Philip saw Mariam and said, "Thank you for being here for them."
"You don't have to say thank you to your family. Philip and I would've been here for them despite our relationship," Mariam said.
"Credit is due when the credit is due. Can I talk to William?" Philip said to Mariam.
She nodded and stepped away from them, "how's Sarah?" Philip asked.
"She's sleeping; I didn't want to wake her up," William said.
"I'm going to release a statement to the press about his condition," Philip said to him.
"Tell Alex to do it, and you sit with your father. How much are you going spend denying the truth?" William said to Philip.
"I didn't know you could talk this much when we married," said Philip, with a smirk on his face.
"I can only talk this much to you, and I have a right to talk as much as I want," William said.
Philip cupped his face and kissed William, leaving him embarrassed and blushing.
"I'll go and release the statement, then I'll go sit by my father. In the meantime, why don't you go to our room and see if you want to change and decorate it to your liking." Said, Philip.
He left William, walked outside the house, and ordered his guard to start the car.
Alex walked in and saw William standing, "is everything alright?" He asked William.
"Yes, everything is alright," William said to him.
"He'll come around at his time," Alex said.
"His time might be a little late," William said, "forget about him; did you eat anything at all?"
Alex stood there and said, "Umm... No, I'm not hungry."
"Nonsense, the lunch is about to be ready. Sit down and eat. I'll wake Sarah up so she can eat, too," William said to Alex.
Philip called Henry as soon as he got off the highway, "hi, how are you, Henry?"
"I'm fine; what's happening at your house? My mother called and told me to ask you," Henry said.
"Yeah, it's my father; he might not make it," Philip replied.
"I'm here if you need anything," said Henry.
"I wanted to get an update about the incidents," asked Philip.
"Well, you were about one thing that it was a fanatic group," said Henry. "I actually arrested someone called Jake. I think he might be related to that group, but after his arrest, they've become silent, almost non-responsive."
"I'm getting tired, Henry, with everything going around." Said Philip, sharing his burden with his friend.
"I know, brother, but we need to soldier on with that burden," Henry said.
"How's George?" Philip asked Henry.
"He's doing a lot better now, and he wanted to invite you and William to our home for dinner," said Henry.
"Yes, why not? I'll call you as soon as I get things in order. Take care of yourself, Henry." Said, Philip.
"You too, Philip," Henry said, and Philip hung up the call.
"Sir, we have arrived," said the driver.
Philip quickly exited the car and walked inside the company's building. People saw him walking and got out of his way. They didn't expect to see him there. Philip finally arrived at his office, and his secretary's eyes widened with surprise; before he could say anything, Philip told him, "come inside the office."
His secretary walked behind him and closed the door. Philip sat on his chair and said, "tell the head of PR to send someone to my office at once and write a statement about my father's illness and that it has worsened. If you need more information, called at the house and ask my brother Alex about it, also call the Head secretary and ask her to call the emergency board meeting."
His secretary was utterly dumbfounded and was processing all the information and was just standing.
"What are you still doing here? Chop chop, get to work before I fire you."
"Yes sir," the secretary snapped back and ran outside the door. Philip took out a cigar from his desk drawer and lit it up; he inhaled a long puff and exhaled smoke, and relaxed his shoulder.
