WILLIAM'S POV
The funeral passed without any hurdles. Two days ago, Sarah and Alex moved back to their apartments near their universities to finish their studies. It's Alex's last year so he'll be absent from home.
The house has pretty down a lot. I try to do things to keep myself busy but to no avail. At least I was active when the house was whole. Now, servants do all the work, and I order them around.
I have booked my appointment with the doctor today. I'll go with Mrs. Harrison.
Philip usually leaves for the office around nine and returns late at night. He's barely even here nowadays, and if it wasn't for Mrs. Harrison, I might've become mad from all this silence.
I have picked up gardening and reading more, and I also thought about writing something of my own, but I think it's too soon.
The greenhouse in the back side of the house is a small miniature jungle. It also does have an area where you can sit down and read. This is what I'm doing now.
My aunt came to the funeral and told me how she plans to travel the world with her friends.
It's pretty disheartening without her moral support; she is my mother.
I should get ready Mrs. Harrison will be here at any moment now.
When I got ready, she awaited me; my intuition was correct. I got in the car and said, "How are you?"
"Forget about how I am. Tell me about yourself," Mrs. Harrison said.
"I'm fine, but I'm getting bored now. The house became empty after Alex and Sarah," I told her.
"Well, I told you to join the country club. You can make new friends," she said.
The car started to move, and I told her, "I'm kinda terrified of country clubs because of movies."
"Oh sweetheart, half of them are Omega's looking for friends just like you because they are left alone at home," she said.
"I guess I'll talk to Philip about it," I said.
"Nonsense, you don't need his permission for these things," said she.
"I'm afraid he'll get mad if I don't tell him," I told her.
"Don't worry, Harald's already have their membership there, and if Philip does tell you something, tell him it was my Idea," She said and laughed.
We both laughed and chatted before arriving at the doctor's office and after I got my blood taken, we waited for half an hour before the doctor called us in.
"Please sit," the doctor said.
We sat down, and she took an envelope from her desk and started to look at it, "congratulations, you're expecting."
My heart skipped a beat, and I couldn't believe the news, but I knew I was happy and in a good position. Besides, Mrs. Harrison practically leaped out from her chair to celebrate when she heard the news.
"But there's something to hear before you get excited," the doctor said.
My expression vanished, and Mrs. Harrison asked, "Is there something to worry about?"
"Yes, and it's his iron deficiency because you used a plug. Your iron levels have gone down drastically," the doctor said.
"Is the baby going to be alright?" I asked her.
"Fear not, and the baby is healthy, only ten days. I have prescribed you vitamins that'll help you get your iron level to rise, and may I ask where is your husband?" The doctor asked, writing on her notepad.
"He's at the office; why?" I asked her.
"Well, it's best you accompany him to the next appointment. We'll have a lot to talk about, and I must tell you about how you two are going to plan the future from now on," said The doctor as she ripped a page out of her notepad and gave it to me.
"Please take these every two hours and eat bananas and drink its milkshakes that'll be beneficial," she said.
After that, we both got out of the doctor's office.
"Give me the prescription I'll get the vitamins for you," Mrs. Harrison said.
"Thank you," I said to her.
We drove home, and Mrs. Harrison and I drank banana shakes on the way there. She told me to be cautious and that she'll visit me at night when Philip is home to discuss it all.
I got inside the house and lay down on the couch. I think this journey completely exhausted me, but I was happy with it.
I touched my belly and smiled. I'm going to be a mother.
Ah, I wanted to tell Philip right now, but I think it'll be best that he comes home at night, then I'll let him know about it.
PHILIP'S POV
The office has become far more hectic than I have realized. I've pushed out new projects one after one and my secretary I think he'll collapse from all the work.
I better find him a secretary to take some of his burdens.
Things have been going around the office smoothly, and there's been silence from the other side.
I knew this was silence before the storm, but I couldn't enjoy this time and make it more possible than I thought.
"Sir, I think the Project X team leader isn't performing well as we thought," my secretary said. He was sitting on a couch looking at papers.
"Why do you think so?" I asked him.
"All the projects are in completion, and he only just assembled his team," he said.
"Give him a timeline and if he doesn't finish in time, replace him with someone else," I said.
"Okay, sir. I think this concludes everything for today. Should I call your driver?"
"Did you have dinner?" I asked.
"No, sir." He replied.
"Well then, I've booked a table for you at RJ's. Thank you for your hard work." I said to him.
"Thank you, sir," it's alright you don't have to say thank you for such trivial things," I told him.
I grabbed my coat and left the building. My car was waiting at the front. I got in and left for home.
After some time, I arrived at the house to see Mrs. Harrison'sHarrison's car in the driveway. I was puzzled and got in to see if William was alright.
Did something happen? As soon as I entered the door, I saw the servant and asked him, "Where is William?"
"He's waiting for you in the dining room."
I moved frantically to see if everything was okay, and when I arrived, I saw him smiling, giggling, and eating. I sighed in relief.
"Oh, he's here. Come, Philip sit down and eat," Mrs. Harrison said.
"Okay, what's the occasion?" I asked William.
"First, eat, then we'll talk about the occasion," William said.
He smiled at me, and I smiled back. I was happy seeing him happy.
After we ate, we all sat down in the drawing room.
William came in last and sat beside me.
"Philip, what I'm to tell you? Please don't freak out," William said.
"What is it?" I asked.
"I went to the doctor today, and I'm pregnant."
