"We have to gather every sword we can get!" Aria heard the familiar voice of her mother. She pushed the door open to reveal the Eldridan council seated in the ovular table, a large map of the continent spread. General Robertson stood beside the queen, hand on the hilt of his sword.
"Aria?" Leticia called after realizing her presence. Her smile was quick to drop when she noticed only Julian trailing behind her. There was no sign of Leon or Marcus.
"Mother," Aria said, her voice almost cracking. Leticia was quick to note this.
"Give us a moment," she ordered. The council members left the room except for general Robertson.
"What happened?" Leticia enquired when she was certain no one was eavesdropping. "Where's Leon and Marcus?"
