Lord Blackwood arrived at the palace by foot, his hair looking disheveled and his clothes dusted. Anyone who could take a look at him could not help but laugh, but the serious face he displayed sent another feeling into the people. He had walked through the capital in that condition and the citizens were left stunned by this. A lord, a high lord of the council at that, was walking in the streets in such a condition? Had he been attacked?
Even the guards who stood at the palace gates did not recognize him from afar. Only when he came closer did they make out his face. But as much as they wanted to laugh, this was a Lord. The consequences of such a mistake were dire, so they could only sympathize.
"My Lord? What happened to you?" Asked one of the council members. The others came behind him wearing the same expression. Lord Blackwood's gaze swept across each of them and something crossed his mind. An evil smile curved on his face as he strode forward nearing the group.
