Chereads / The Paragon Class / Chapter 6 - Trial

Chapter 6 - Trial

"That b*tch is still probably in the meeting. We must figure out a way to get back at her."

"That's right, boss! She crossed a line there!" this goof on my left said. What a kiss a*s he is. Maybe, these two idiots are the reason why that beautiful doll rejected me! Right! They must be!

"Let us do it this way. Why don't the two of you ambush her and make her pay? Afterward, I will swoop in as a hero to save her."

"Wouldn't that be telegraphed? She knows that we are with you, after all."

This other fellow has some brains.

"That is a good point. Just tell her that this is your personal vengeance. I will swoop in and redeem myself, and I will praise you for being loyal. It is a win-win for both of us."

As I saw the hopeful and amazed look in these goons eyes, I could not help but chuckle inside. These bastards are going to be good food for that b*tch of a hyena.

Did that pretentious b*tch leave the meeting too? Tsk! Miss perfect, my sweet a*s. It just creams my corn! Ugh!

That's the new guy with her, right? Is some guy actually talking to her? What?! Has the world gone mad!? I thought she was the queen of solitude and ice. She is actually laughing!? With a guy? Utterly absurd! Let me film this historic moment.

Maybe I can get some dirt out of that b*tch! Huh? Who are those? Aren't those Mark's lackeys? Are they going to trouble Dawn!? Are they mad!?

I held my breath as I watched the two idiots get closer and closer to Dawn. I could not hear what they were saying, but I am assuming that the two of them are thinking of a way to get rid of Aeil first. Should I help Dawn? Hmm? To hell with it; let her suffer a bit first.

I tried my best to get closer without anyone noticing. I wanted to hear the conversation they were having. When I looked to the right, I saw Mark hiding behind a tree. What the hell are they plotting?

"Hello, miss, we meet again," one of the lackeys said to Dawn. I have known Dawn to be a person who is always wearing a smile. She never fails. Now that I think about it, this may be the only time I have seen such an ugly expression from her.

"I must say, it is not nice to see you again," Dawn said in distaste. I wonder what happened between them. I was shocked when I saw Mark pull his fist in the air, like a victorious action, after hearing what Dawn said.

"Come on, last time; you were very disrespectful to our boss. To be honest, he was fine with it, but we cannot stomach the fact that you did that to our boss!" the other one said.

"What did you do? Did you castrate him?" Aeil asked with a joking smile.

Bad joke! How inappropriate of him to make such a comment in the middle of such a situation--what?

"Mff, not like that. I just pointed out that his third-rate family cannot influence the Paragon Class," Dawn actually smiled and laughed! Had the world gone mad? Do I not know her at all?

I have been with her for 6 years since we were still studying together. She smiled a lot, but no one made her like this. He is not that good-looking. He is not muscular too. How did he bend the queen of solitude?

"Oh, I would have castrated them," Aeil said as if he was serious. This solicited another wide smile from Dawn. Do they have their own humor too?

"Don't but in this conversation! We are not talking to you!" the first lackey said.

"It amazes me how you fail to see the hypocrisy there," Aeil rebutted.

"What hypocrisy? You are the one who interrupted us!" the second lackey said.

"It's like talking to two intelligent Labradoodles," Aeil commented with a sigh. Dawn then gently hit him with her elbow as if telling him to stop. I am about to lose my mind! She touched him!? Dawn? Is she the same person? What does that man have, exactly? I want to taste him. I cannot help but lick my lips. He seems to have something special.

"You! Who are you calling Labradoodles?!" the second lackey asked.

"Let us cut to the chase. What do you want?" Dawn interrupted.

"Come with us. You must apologize to our boss!" the first lackey declared after composing himself.

"I do not think I do," Dawn said with a look of amazement at their ignorance.

"Then you left us with no choice!" The first lackey shouted before moving his hand to grab Dawn. I can see that despite the calm demeanor of Dawn, a trace of fear surfaced in her heart. I could see it in her eyes.

"Hey! You!" Just before the first lackey's hand could reach Dawn a figure slapped his hand down hard.
