Chapter 1 - RIMPAC

The year's '47 and the so called "The Great Filter" was avoided. However, the fight between the east and west carries on. Only that it was indirect confrontation.

The day has come for the first ever indigenous carrier made independently by Philippines take it's course to Hawaii for the annual join naval training along with its blue water fleet consist of mostly destroyed and cruiser.

The carrier, currently commanded by Admiral Leonardo, spoke to his radio for the upcoming announcement. And as he speak, the respective captains of the ships reply with respect.

Though this might be his first time commanding an entire fleet, much less with a carrier, it's still doesn't stop crew to admire his greatness. Leonardo, who fought the 2nd korean war as a naval volunteer, has a confirmed two destroyed warship within those years.

Not only that, his age seem to not fit with his glory. 25 year old admiral is unheard of which made the respect for him even greater. Of course, death glares of envious is inevitable and saying it was a mere pity of credit.

Nevertheless, he now own an entire fleet with a carrier in it. And carries almost 50 mutli-purpose aircraft! Such honor is far greater than his glory.

Because of that, he smile with his lips touching his eyes as he stare at the ocean view. Such beautiful blue area reminisce him before.

Three years ago, he was the senior officer of his boarding ship. The captain died due to being hit by a fighter jet in the midst of recapturing Seoul. He was given a chance to take the stage and bring great glory to him and his country.

In the end, he was honored as the greatest naval officer in the entire Philippine navy.

As he was reminiscing the past, two kilometers aways from them, a Mist is forming. It was unusual since mist doesn't form in this kind of season. Especially when they aren't not that far from the Philippines.

Of course, the entire fleet recognize this as a smoke due to its density and battle station their crew. They prepare for worse and load up their armaments ready to fire any possible target at any time.

The Admiral grab his binocular and analyze the mysterious mist. It was nothing special, the only problem is it appears within the Philippine Sea.

Multiple theories pop up, some says there will be a storm and it's currently being formed. Some even say that the natural phenomenon shouldn't be worried about since it's quite common in this time.

But there's something within the heart of Leonardo that tells him to be wary of it. Something dangerous that lurks within those mist. Perhaps a secret weapon made by the Chinese.

He doesn't know, all he know is that they should avoid.

"Starboard!"

He immediately ordered his man to turn right away from the mist. The wariness of his instinct cannot be ignored. A dangerous trap lies behind those mist.

However, before he could even order his entire fleet to steady. The mist suddenly change its direction. This time, they are directly coming towards them.

80 knots, that fast.

"Port!!"

"Port!"

The man ordered again, however, it was useless. The Mist always direct itself to them.

"We've got no choice, fire a warning shot!"

A destroyer, similar to Arleigh Burke class, fire its shell towards the mist. They wait for a response but no reply was received.

The enemy is silent, they don't want to communicate nor interact. Even the carrier itself has sent a warning signal. A message, despite all of the effort, it was useless.

He was thinking for himself, he wants to know what lies behind those. It can be a trap, but a trap should've been activated the moment the mist approach us.

"Radio them in."

He order his man to turn on the radio.

"Now hear this, now hear this."

"I have concluded that the mist is a dangerous thing, however, it seems it doesn't possess any trap that will hinder or damage our fleet. We will go in, run a tight ship and focus to your surrounding."

Silence spread the fleet, no one wants to reject such order but everyone's fear is obvious. But this is the great admiral himself, taking such order for greater glory is better than nothing.

Thus, the mission was concluded. Instead of attending the RIMPAC, they entered an unknown mist refusing the order of high command. Surely they will be in trouble if time comes.
