Within the mist lies an ocean full of nothingness but water. At first, Leonardo Ozmenja even thought of it as the same as the pacific ocean, not until an unknown vessel appear.
It was covered in wood and uses sail to move. As if they came from the past. It has a weird carve in it with a flag signifying someone's country. A flag of sovereign that doesn't exist in their world.
To the enemy, they are foreign. Thus, the wooden ship fired a round of flaming balls from their cannon hitting multiple warship. However, it gives no damage as the fleet were made up of steel warships.
Leonardo, upon being struck by an unknown type of naval warship, decided to fire as self defense.
"We were attacked, they attacked. So they have to be prepared for what to come. Fire the battery, only once. Let's see what kind of ship is that, an illusion or not?"
Leonardo is still confuse of what's happening. A mist appearing and within it is a hostile medieval warship firing towards them without even a warning. Somethings wrong and his instinct tells him so.
The Manila class destroyer(Arleigh Burke class) fired a round of battery and penetrates through the wooden armor of the enemy warship. However, it was not an AP shell, instead, the shell fired was a high explosive one, hence causing enormous damage from the explosion alone and collapse due to the fire.
The enemy warship sunk, but people are still disbelief of the sudden strange event. Even Leonardo himself struggle to process the situation. Throughout his years of service as the former captain of a warship, he never encounter an enemy that will use an old warship.
Perhaps it could be an illusion, and it was as simply as distraction. Could it be that the Chinese are trying to invade the Philippines to remove influence of the west.
It's possible, but not plausible.
In the end, he could only think of this as a weird outcome. Yes, they won however it was neither a victory for them.
Leonardo ordered his men to rescue the remaining enemy. It was their time to talk.

In a country of an unknown world lies a prosperous city called Evelian. A royal capital city of Federica, a multiracial country ruled by one family. It was an absolute monarchy and yet people cheer as their country's ruler give his speech.
"To my great citizen, I, Charles Evalian, fifth in my name, send my deepest gratitude to you all. Not because you serve me too good, but you've given me another chance to once again rule this great country of ours. Here's another year of the foundation of our country!"
People cheer as the inspiring speech of their ruler end. After that, the celebration continues and the fun once again started.
Within the confines of the royal family, a knock was heard from the door. The king order the person to get in after verifying its identity.
"What is it, Freo."
"A message were received from the coastguard, a fleet of unknown warship appear out of nowhere and they will soon halt the possibly hostile fleet's advance. No message has yet to come since then."
The look on his soon grim after hearing his servant's words. A fleet of unknown warship, just like in the prophecy described as the fleet of doom. They will bring great destruction to those who turn against them and probably change the order of his country.
And yet, his subject just confronted it. If lucky, they will survive.
"Order our man to standby and assemble or naval personnel. Prepare for the worst. Dear, my children, we will come with them to the coastal city of Pearl. I want all of you to prepare immediately since we will as soon as dusk arrive."
"But dear, what's happening? What's so important that it change your mood?"
"The fleet brought by the Gods just arrive in our doorstep, it's either we destroy them or welcome them... Our subject chose the former. Ready up! I'll explain the rest on the carriage."
'This is too sudden.'
Even the king himself who knew little about the prophecy thought of this as absurd as it is. Either way, they have to welcome them as best as they can. And only then will they know the true intents of this fleet.
Will they bring destruction or save this dying world of theirs from the hands of the manipulating Gods.
