After standing for a while, Stephen opened the door of the car and pushed her out while giving her her purse and keys, "I am tired of you and your tantrums. It seems my Love for you is a mistake", Stephen said angrily before entering the car and sped off leaving her all to herself.
Veda balled her fist, she was a conservative person who took things to heart, she threw walked off into the dark street where she happened to meet Lance parked beside a tree.
She knew he had seen the drama that unfolded and she wasn't expecting anything from him except him bursting into laughter and mocking her. She had been mocked all her life and him doing so would be fair since she had also dumped him at the party.
"Are you up for a ride?", his question shocked her but she quickly regained her composure.
Who knows, he might mock her later if she let's down her guard.
"Don't worry, I don't mind what happened there but what you said to your friend really hurt her", Lance said while walking over to her side to open the door for her.
"Alright, I'll get in", she said getting into the car before slamming the door shut and breathing a sigh of relief that he didn't mock her.
"So where do you want to go to?", Lance asked, wiping a drop of tear from her eyes.
He deeply liked her and after going through her background history, he couldn't blame her for being the way she was.
"Anywhere would be fine except a hotel", She said and they both burst into laughter before he stepped on the pedal and drove off.
"Do you think I was too harsh there?", Ann asked probably worried, her friend usually makes wrong decisions sometimes.
"Veda had a hard time growing up and right now, she needs to grow up and not depend on you for everything or decision in her life and lastly MY WOMAN CAN NEVER BE WRONG", Calli said with a straight face and Ann burst into laughter making him join in the laughter.
She looked cute to him and he loved her that way, cute and fragile.
"Maybe you are right", She agreed and suddenly a man bumped into Calli and his phone fell to the floor.
"Oh sorry sir, let me get that for you", the strange man said picking up the phone and wiping it off on his enormous coat before handing it over to Calli.
"I am so sorry once again", The man apologized in some kind of fear. He was avoiding eye contact with Ann who seemed to be looking into his brown irises.
She couldn't tell but she felt she had seen him before, somewhere.
"No problem, what is your name?", Calli asked.
"I'm Dennis", The man answered while smiling politely but Ann's critical gaze made his thin sweats break out on his forehead.
Calli gauged the man from head to toe, he realized that the man was probably poor and unkempt, "how about I repay you for the favor earlier?", Calli offered.
"What favor?", Ann asked.
"Oh, Dennis helped me find a suitable parking space when there was some riot sometime ago and when he was done, I didn't see him anymore so I decided to repay him ", Calli said all smiles but Ann nudged him.
"No baby doll, not that kind of payment, I meant money", Calli said only to gain an *oh* sound from Ann.
"No sir, I might be poor but I'm not charity case, I'll prefer to work for my money", Dennis replied. Since his worked was done all he wanted to do was to disappear from Ann's scrutinizing gaze.
"You rejected my offer, do you know who I am ?", Calli asked as Ann held his hand, his gaze softened when it landed back at her.
" I know who you are. You're Calli Ambrosio and I'm an infamous but well trained civil engineer who got fired a year ago", Dennis said.
"Then you can work in my company", Calli suggested.
"Thank you sir", Dennis prostrated, he couldn't believe he killed two birds with a stone.
He was elated until Ann's cold hands raised him to his feet and as she dusted his cloth, she had a look that conveyed, I AM WATCHING YOU, to him. He couldn't help but swallow some spittle.
Call dragged Ann away from him obviously a little jealous of the attention Ann was giving to the man. Dennis stared at their retreating backs as he said to himself, "For once, I'll say that boss was wrong about Calli Ambrosio but I have to do this for my wife and little baby girl, Amy", Before walking off.
"Do you want to come over to my house",Calli couldn't help but ask. Ever since him and Ann decided to start afresh in their relationship, he decided to start treating her gently like an egg and not coerce her into doing anything.
"No, I bought an apartment immediately I arrived here", Ann said not blinking a bit.
Calli was stunned as to all the revelations he just saw.
"I know you're overwhelmed by all that happened this evening but I had no way of telling you and even as I told you all this, there's nothing you can do to stop the inevitable in the future", Ann paused before continuing when she saw that Calli wasn't disturbed,
"I might die anyways but all I know is that I will not die a loser. I actually didn't want to involve you in all this mess but I guess the heart has a way of doing things. If I could turn the hands of time, I would have never approached you or confessed my feelings to you", She said and Calli stepped violently on the breaks.
It was only then that Ann discovered that Calli had been holding unto his anger.
"Am I just a play thing to you Ann, read my lips Ann, WHEN I TELL YOU I LOVE YOU, THEN I MEAN IT, EVEN IF YOU LEAVE YOU CAN'T ESCAPE ME, EVEN IF IT'S NOT WRITTEN IN YOUR DESTINY TO BE WITH ME, I'LL FIGHT THROUGH ANYTHING INCLUDING DEATH TO BE WITH YOU", Calli blurted out.
"But Calli...", Calli shut her up with a kiss, nibbling at her upper lips before proceeding downwards to devour and ravage her lower lips.
Ann didn't know what to do, she had never kissed before, what should she do?, So she just held unto his shirt giving Calli an entrance into her mouth.
Calli took his time to show her how deeply he loved her and by the time he was done, they were both panting for breath.
"Don't you dare leave me", Calli said before hugging Ann. He had never been so scared of anything except losing her.
He felt as if someone or something was waiting to snatch her away from him just like how it snatched Rose.
