"You… scare me," Persephone confessed, her voice trembling with raw vulnerability. "The power you have over me… it could either build me or break me into pieces." Her face was a canvas of pain as she looked at her. "Everything you do, everything you say—it affects me in ways I can't even explain. And yet, despite how terrifying that is, I still want to be near you. Do you know how scary that is?"
Persephone paused, her gaze falling to the sand, not meeting her eyes. "Maybe that's why I couldn't bring myself to tell the truth… because I was too much of a coward to face what you might say."
After a minute, Ginny's voice broke the silence. "What truth?"
