"I missed you…" Ginny murmured, burying her face in the crook of Persephone's neck, breathing her in—like she needed to anchor herself, to make sure this was real.
She felt the latter's arms wrap around her waist as the warmth of her presence seeped into her skin. For a moment, they just stood there, holding each other, letting the world fade into the background.
Eventually, Persephone pulled back, though not entirely, her hands still lingering at her waist.
"Ginny, we've been looking everywhere for you." Her voice carried the weight of frustration as her brows furrowed. "Do you have any idea how worried I was?"
Ginny met her gaze, and she felt bad. "I'm sorry." She reached up, fingers grazing the side of the latter's neck, a gentle attempt to soothe her. "I left my phone at the beach house, and… I'm terrible at memorizing numbers, so I couldn't contact you or anyone." She hesitated a bit before adding, "Didn't Prof. Johnson tell you guys?"
