How dare she make her feel like this.

They never explicitly defined what they were, never put a label on it—but Ginny had all but promised that they would explore whatever this thing between them was. 

They freaking kissed more than one time. That definitely meant something, right?

And yet, the image of the latter wrapped around Natalie, holding her so tightly, was seared into her mind.

Has she changed her mind? Persephone tried to reason with herself. 

Maybe she was overthinking it. Maybe it wasn't what it looked like.

But the knot in her chest refused to loosen.

Jealousy was such an ugly, wretched thing. And right now, it clung to her like a shadow she couldn't shake.

Frustrated, she shut off her phone with more force than necessary, determined to stop herself from checking it every few seconds. She refused to let this ruin her day.
