"Cierra! Run!"
A shiver ran down Cierra's spine as she met the man's gaze. She quickly pulled back, her heart racing with a mix of fear and fascination. Who was he? How was here, in her school? And why was he talking to Jeremiah of all people?
It was only once the mysterious man started stepping towards the door that Cierra heeded Jeremiah's advice.
Cierra took off, shoes skidding on the marbled rubber flooring as she turned down different paths. Each step felt like a scream, and so when she safely made it a few hallways away from Jeremiah's classroom, she dipped into the nearest teacher's office.
Making sure not to make any noise, she closed the door as carefully as she could. Years ago she had learned that by holding down the door knob it was possible to close the door without making any loud noise. She only hoped whoever that was didn't have superhuman hearing.
