Part. 28
Gate of Darkness
The silver light that emerged from the tip of Joye Sword, slowly dispelled the darkness enveloping the night. The full moon's face is almost entire. Slowly, Kiera lowered her hand position as the full moon reflected the faint light created by the traces of Joye Sword.
Screams howled like an orchestral chorus that echoed the sounds of anger and despair could be heard breaking the silence of the night, when the faint veil of light that Kiera had created surrounding the universe completely intertwined to form a tight line to the limit of heaven and earth. Several black shadows that were flying scattered into thin smoke when they crashed with the thin line made by Kiera and left heart-rending screams.
Slowly, the darkness began to recede. The sky was clear again so that even the moonlight could penetrate the farthest places, forming the faint shadows of the three people who were still rooted to their places.
A few visible black shadows were still floating in the sky, slowly fading away. A faint scream could still be heard. However, the silence that followed seemed to swallow up all the commotion a moment ago.
"Father! Teacher! Are you all right?" Quickly, Kiera's eyes scanned the state of her father and teacher. Kiera sighed with relief when she found the two people she loved were in good condition.
"We are fine, Princess, but it would be better if we immediately continue our journey. I am afraid something bad will happen in the fort." Kellen replied with relief when he realized that Kiera had not only defeated the forces of darkness that were trying to break through. However, his princess was even able to instantly put up a protective barrier by utilizing the moonlight and the protective power of the Joye Sword.
Even more relieved, when Kellen realized the path to the border guard post was starting to be visible again. Kellen rushed back to lead the trip. He must arrive soon. After all, he didn't want anything bad happen to Kiera or the entire clan.
They immediately headed for the guard post. The guards who realized that it was Kellen who was in front of them, immediately opened the gate without asking much.
For a moment, the eyes of the guards were fixed on Kiera's figure, who seemed to shine amidst the darkness of the night. However, even though their minds were wondering, no one dared to voice the curiosity in their hearts.
A quiet atmosphere greeted the arrival of the three of them. Kellen noticed that all the way to Shinny they were walking as if they had just been hit by a giant wind. Some trees were even uprooted. Apparently, the city center had also become the target of the forces of darkness.
Without the slightest hesitation, Kellen immediately took Kiera and Aaegon to a place right in the middle of Shinny's town to meet the other clan elders.
They arrived at a vast land surrounded by high walls. A simple gate that stands firmly facing the city of Shinny is the only connecting door to the place behind the wall.
"Father!"
"Sir!"
"Kiera!"
Several voices with a sigh of relief greeted the arrival of Kellen, Kiera, and Aaegon. Night is almost approaching morning. The moonlight that was almost fading was still able to bring its light to illuminate the place that looked dim.
