Chapter 16 - Ava - Returning Home

"So where are you from?" I ask her.

"Here there and everywhere, I moved a lot. I was staying with a friend, my goodness she must be worried sick. Can I ring her?" Olivia asks me.

"Sure, here.." I give her my phone.

She dials in her friends number and waits.

"Hello, Janice I'm fine just to tell you not to worry about me, I'm with some friends at the moment, yes I'm sorry I forgot to call and let you know. I'll come by and collect my things when I can. Yes I'm safe and sound, alright then, bye."

"Lucky thing I got her in time she was about to file a missing person report, at the police station." She says glancing at me then looking at my phone screen. She hands my phone back.

"Here, you need to put this on, we don't know who else might be looking for you" I say giving her the wig and sunglasses.

She nods her head and accepts the items.

"Come let's go back to the room and take the suitcases," suggests Ava.

They enter the lift and are taken to the floor of their room, once they take the suitcases out, they enter the lift again and head to the main lobby.

"Girls you can start loading the car. I hear you will be staying with us, welcome onboard" says Mrs Calistar Hartwell shooting Olivia a welcoming grin.

Once in the car, Jedidiah switches on Waze and keys in the directions to go home.

"Babe, Olivia will be joining us for a stay awhile, I don't think you've met," says Mary-Anne.

"Oh hi there, welcome onboard, so that will be one extra chick in the Hartwell Home," comments Jedidiah.

"Yup, we're gonna have a ton of fun getting to know one another, right Liv!" says Mary-Anne excitedly turning around in her seat to stare at Olivia.

Olivia feeling slightly uncomfortable gives her a forced smile in return and just nods her head.

"So, Olivia dear where are your parents?" asks Mrs. Calistar Hartwell.

"My mother passed away when I was three ma'am but Daddy is from Holland.

"So, you're Dutch! But you look American, you must resemble your mother."

"That I do ma'am," replies Olivia.

"You have lovely black hair and blue eyes," Mary-Anne chips in.

"Daddy has blonde hair and blue eyes," Olivia shyly adds.

"He must be handsome too," remarks Mrs. Calistar Hartwell.

"He is ma'am," says Olivia.

"Have you contacted your father recently?" asks Ava looking at Olivia inquiringly.

"He changed his phone number and I can't remember what his new number is, but not to worry I can send him an email when we arrive at your place."

"I hope he isn't worried about you," comments Mary-Anne from the front.

"I don't think so, he must think I'm preoccupied with my friends, if I can send him an email today things should be fine, he won't worry at all."

An hour and a half pass by, we finally arrive home and I guide Olivia to the guestroom that is just beside my room.

"Let me grab my laptop for you to use, there are fresh towels and a change of clothes in the wardrobe, I hope you get comfortable."

"Thanks, I'm just going to put my head down," she replies.

I go into my room and see my laptop with the light blinking, which means the battery is low, so I take out the charger and the extension wire.

"Olivia, here you go", I say passing her the laptop and the charger.

"Thanks, again I'll return it when I'm done," she says, while opening the room door.

I glimpse in and see that Cleo my cat has nicely made herself comfortable on the bed.

"Hey, who said you could come in here?"

Olivia laughs, "I see I have a visitor, hey there girl you can stay." She says while picking up the cat "say, bye-bye to mummy, bye," she says while closing the door.
