Chapter 28 - Play some flute.

While the scene continued forward, the lights in the ball room unexpectedly dimmed to bare minimum. Everybody also started voicing out their doubts and went into a state of disarray.

Astrid blinked her eyes to adjust her vision in this new environment and felt Vincent's hand pressing on her thigh with some more pressure, seemingly telling me to remain calm. I guess he was also alerted by this sudden mess.

Suddenly, a drum started beating in a rhythmic Thump… Thump…

And people wearing white robes with a long hood covering their faces entered the ballroom from various sides, forming a group in the middle of the stage. They were all acting very mysterious, while the guards didn't seem to be alarmed, so, was all this was arranged?

Then a figure in the centre of the group summoned a small flute out of thin air and held it up to her lips and gently blew into it. Instantly a sweet sound reverberated in all directions, mana vines of soft maroon shade slowly enveloped the surrounding, as if they were trying to set up a stage for themselves.

And when she started playing the flute, the surroundings started to quiet down and you could only listen to an ancient sound coming from the flute. Even she was captured by the powerful melody of this flute.

While everyone focused their attention on the flute player a few people joined the symphony with their harmonica and the drums joined the beat and the rest of the group also started to sing an opera to join in the accompaniment.

The music they presented touched the hearts of the audience, when suddenly the drum roll stopped for a heartbeat and their robes burned into ashes and they spread out into a neat formation. They all were dressed in the tribal clothes of all the major races existing on Alecia and then they bowed in the direction of the throne and started dancing a beautiful ballet.

The tribes represented in this ballet were originally standing together in small groups and slowly they started mixing together and dancing, smiling and laughing with each other. It was shown as a symbol, that now all the races on this land existed in peace and prosperity. A wonderful message indeed, sent by the Silfa, to the world.

I looked at Cordelia through a sided gaze, trying not to be very much obvious. But what I saw on her was not a her regular kind smile, but a poker face devoid of emotion, like she was looking at a very small ant. Other won't be able to tell a difference but I can I know her expression too well to tell.

The dancing and sing was still going on, but my eyes were still fell on the woman who stood unmoving in the middle of this dance, playing her flute with full concentration, she didn't look out of place because it was as if her mind and flute were one with rest of her troupe. She was beautiful and full of talent, her ability was also a little because her mana was converted into music and her flute was her elemental familiar. Actually not everyone can awaken their own familiar only those with powerful mana and deep focus can manifest their familiar and their sizes and forms also vary from person to person. Just like this girl has a instrumental elemental familiar.

Then something strange started happening to this girl, her facial expression looked a little cramped, as if she was enduring some sort of a great pressure.

It felt very weird…
