The dancers continued to dance with enthusiasm and fervour; they performed various clever tricks which amazed everyone in the audience. While amidst this spontaneous stage, the girl playing her flute stood still as if the charming colours around her had no effect on her, she stood there like she was the conductor synchronising this stage, playing her flute, it was like her tranquillity and there movement both blended into each other, depending on one another, This was really a piece of art.
Astrid couldn't take her eyes away from the soft pink halo surrounding the whole body of the flute player playing her ditty tune and thus she immediately felt the changes in her facial expression. 'Is she not feeling well, but she is still playing with the same intensity, but something seems to be wrong with her' she though, as her hand subconsciously tugged the lapel of Vincent's coat.
Vincent grabbed her hand and squeezed them, Astrid confusedly turned to look at him, only to meet his solemn eyes.
'Don't do anything, don't say anything.' he seemed to convey by his eyes.
Astrid blinked in understanding and again turned her attention toward the stage. she saw that the girl was playing the flute with her increasingly cramped expression, but everybody else didn't seem to notice her changes, 'were they just mesmerized by the performance and didn't notice or they couldn't care less about her expression.'
Suddenly there was strong eruption of Mana explosion in the ballroom and the flute player knelt to the ground. She held her temple with her hands as threw back her head in a jolt, it was like something caged with her body was trying to break free.
She also pressed her flute harshly against her temples, which she mercilessly crushed as she strongly pressed it between her temple and her hand. The flute's body slowly cracked and then turned it broke into a million of small pieces which slowly vanished into thin air. While her temple started bleeding, turning half of her face covered in blood which then seeped into her white robe turning it into bright red in contrast.
Many people gasped in shock as they saw her breaking her flute, because that wasn't just a flute, it was her familiar, it should be like a large piece of her mana, it could be even said to be a piece of her soul.
Everyone near her slowly backed away. They looked afraid.
The Silfian dignitaries were also alarmed by her sudden outburst and immediately instructed the guards to surround and capture her, while some of them stood in front of the platform to protect the VIPs of this party.
The flute player screamed in pain and scratched her neck violently… she looked in a very dangerous state.
Guards also approached her slowly… very cautiously, there long spears pointed towards her, surrounding her from all of the directions, their cold, emotionless eyes didn't seem like they wanted to save her, they were going to kill her.
Rest of her troop had long since retreated to the side, they also didn't seem like they wanted to save her.
As the guards almost approached her, the flute player quieted down her painful screams and opened her eyes…
