Chapter 3 - Unveiling the Secret

As Victor walked back to his home, he couldn't shake off the uneasiness that had settled in his heart after receiving the mysterious letter from Graham. He had no idea who Walter was or why his arrival was so significant, but he trusted Graham and knew that he wouldn't have sent the letter if it wasn't important.

As he approached his home, he saw his wife Irene sitting on the porch, shelling peas with Nancy. Their two sons, Ion and Joe, were playing tag in the yard, running around and screaming with laughter. Victor's heart swelled with pride and love for his family, and he knew that whatever this new development was, he would do whatever it takes to protect them.

He greeted his family warmly and went inside to read the letter. It was written on thick, expensive paper and had elegant calligraphy that looked like it had been written by a master calligrapher. Victor couldn't help but feel a sense of reverence as he opened the letter and began to read.

"Dear Victor,

I hope this letter finds you and your family in good health and spirits. I know that you have many questions about Walter's arrival, but I cannot explain everything in this letter. Walter is an old friend of mine, and he has come to help us with a matter of great importance.

You may be wondering why I have chosen you to be part of this endeavor. The truth is, Victor, that you possess a special power that can help us in ways that no one else can. I know that you have always tried to keep your power a secret, even from your family, but now is the time to reveal it.

I understand that this may be a shock to you, but I implore you to trust me. We are facing a threat unlike any we have ever encountered before, and we need your help to overcome it. Meet me at the old ruins at midnight tonight, and I will explain everything.

Yours in faith,

Graham"

Victor couldn't believe what he was reading. He had always known that there was something different about him, something that set him apart from others. But he had never told anyone, not even Irene or his children. He had always feared that if people knew about his power, they would be afraid of him or try to use him for their own purposes.

But now, Graham was asking him to reveal his secret and use his power to save the world. Victor knew that he couldn't refuse. He had a duty to protect his family and his community, and if his power could be used for good, then he had to use it.

He spent the rest of the day in a daze, trying to prepare himself for what lay ahead. He didn't tell Irene or the boys where he was going, but he left a note on the kitchen table explaining that he had to go out for an urgent matter and that he would be back soon.

As the sun began to set, Victor left his house and made his way to the old ruins. He had never been there before, but he had heard stories about it from Graham. It was said that the ruins were once part of an ancient temple where powerful magic was practiced, but that it had been destroyed centuries ago by a great cataclysm.

When Victor arrived at the ruins, he saw Graham standing in the center of the temple, his arms outstretched and his eyes closed. There was a faint glow emanating from his body, and Victor could feel a powerful energy emanating from him.

"Welcome, my dear Victor," Graham said, opening his eyes and turning to face him. "I am glad that you came."

"What is this place?" Victor asked, looking around at the crumbling stones and broken columns.
