Victor sat beside Graham, staring at the envelope in his hands. His mind was racing with questions about who Walter was and why his arrival was so significant. Graham could see the confusion on Victor's face and decided to break the silence.
"Walter is an old friend of mine. We haven't seen each other in many years, but he's coming to visit me next week. I need your help to prepare for his arrival," Graham said.
Victor looked relieved at the explanation and nodded in agreement. "Of course, Uncle. What do you need me to do?"
"I need you to make sure the house is clean and tidy. We need to make a good impression on Walter. I also want you to help me with something else," Graham said, his tone becoming serious.
"What is it?" Victor asked, his curiosity piqued.
"I received this envelope in the mail today, and I have a feeling it's connected to Walter's visit. But there's no return address, and I don't know what's inside. I need your help to figure it out," Graham said, handing the envelope to Victor.
Victor examined the envelope carefully. It was thick and expensive looking, with no markings or return address. He could tell it was sealed with wax, which added to the air of mystery.
"I'll do my best to help you figure it out, Uncle. But what if it's something dangerous? We should be careful," Victor said, concern etched on his face.
Graham nodded in agreement. "I know, that's why I want to keep this between us for now. We don't know who sent it or what their intentions are. But I have a feeling it's important."
Victor took the envelope and put it in his pocket. "Don't worry, Uncle. I'll make sure the house is ready for Walter's arrival, and we'll figure out what's in this envelope together."
Graham smiled at Victor, grateful for his help. "Thank you, Victor. You're a good man and a good father to your boys."
Victor blushed at the compliment. "Thank you, Uncle. I just want to make sure my family is taken care of."
Graham stood up from the log and patted Victor on the back. "I know you will, my boy. Now let's get to work."
With that, they headed back to the house to begin their preparations for Walter's arrival. But the mystery of the envelope lingered in the back of their minds, and they both knew it wouldn't be long before they had to face it head-on.
