Chapter 12 ambush!
The air nation team leader sent a whiplash directly at Lancelot.
At the same time, the lion beast-man roared and jumped at Lancelot, extending the claws of his hands to its full extent and then getting his hands in a grappling motion, directly swiping at
Lancelot's neck.
Lancelot quickly spun to the side, simultaneously pushing out flames out of his body.
As the intense fire roared to life, it moved like it had sentience and surged around the hands of the lion beast-man.
However, surprisingly his skin was tough and the effects occurred weakly, it managed to only slightly singe the hair of his hands while his claws were completely unaffected.
Cherry joined in the attack this time.
She started sending wave after wave of fireballs towards the flying air nation soldiers and the beast-men on the ground.
The fireballs then hit the beast-men.
it burnt some of those beast-men to ashes and seriously injured others but for those that were sent after the flying air nation soldiers, the fireballs were doused by a technique that seemed to prevent the wind from fuelling it, hence extinguishing it completely.
Wind blade after wind blade struck Lancelot and for some reason, he just couldn't conjure up his air elemental control.
He had a grim expression as pain ran through his body. He had used himself to shield his sister and hence taken up all the damage.
The remaining beast nation soldiers started approaching for close combat when they noticed Lancelot had stopped attacking.
The lion beast-man raised his claws to swipe and end the life of Lancelot, but before he could do that, something bizarre happened.
Water started rushing out of the orifices of all the air nation and beast nation men present, the rushing continued so swiftly, that it felt like a tap had been opened.
Their bodies hardened to a hard nutshell and cracked into dust leaving nothing else.
The place that was formerly filled with elites from both nations was suddenly empty, leaving only the injured Lancelot, the confused Cherry, and the tied up and unconscious Dice behind.
A figure dropped out of the cloud and landed with an earth-shaking thud.
It felt like an ethereal being had joined the world. Every single part of her body was calling forth to the element of water, the ground around her was soaked with every step.
Fluids flowed all around her like she contained a sea. She was a beautiful middle-aged woman with silvery white hair and a wry smile, if not for history, those who know her would never believe that she has lived for two millennia.
"Kendra" both Lancelot and Cherry chorused in confusion.
"Hello, Lancelot, we finally meet!" Kendra said with a smile.
She then looked around at the heaps of sand that littered the entrance of the forest.
'l had told Goro that his men were greedy but he won't listen, now he put you through this!" She spat out with an angry expression, then she softened,
"Lancelot, you're here for the beast nation power hook!" Kendra said as a 'matter of factly'.
Lancelot looked at her, puzzled, "how did you know?",
She then responded,
"I also have the information you have concerning the secrets of every nation and those you do not possess, that is why I wanted you to come."
"You need the element of water and extreme control over other elements to combine them to produce even more lethal attacks, I noticed your air control failed you, when you tried to fend off the wind blades, have you practiced it since you gained that ability?"
"Element mastery is like a limb, the less you use
it, the more it becomes redundant."
Kendra paused and then continued:
"l will aid you in your water training and give you tips on how best to maximize other elements during an attack but I cant train you in other elements, only you can control and master all elements after all"
She finished speaking with a smile and moved to release Dice from his restrictions
Together the four of them ventured deeper into the forest.
Dice had recovered after Kendra appeared and was conscious to witness the entire episode but he was scared out of his wits because seeing Kendra was more like a nightmare to him.
Hearing about her was much easier to deal with
He followed quietly behind the group as they moved to face the dangers of the forest.
Lancelot's body surprisingly had started to heal his wounds which were mostly superficial so it took less time than they would if they were
deeper and organ-related injuries.
