Chapter 17: Water Element Training!!!
As days passed by, they never forgot the massacre they had witnessed, In fact, once in a while the children could be heard crying for their parents.
Kendra was also reeling from the immense loss to the water tribe but she never dwelt too long on it.
Xanthu was charged by Kendra to train the Kids personally to use and control their water element.
As days went by, their training session started to give results.
Out of 39 of them, 18 had been able to successfully control small columns of water.
The training pushed the children to bring out their true capabilities.
For days without end, they would train, eat, and
then learn some theoretical history and knowledge about their world and others; Like how to wield their powers and who they fundamentally were, and then they would train again before they passed out from exhaustion.
This continued for days, into months. and they grew stronger, physically and mentally.
Lancelot had spent most of his days in isolation meditating and learning about the secrets that were not revealed to him during his first awakening,
Kendra had noticed this and allowed him to take his time.
Cherry and Dice on the other hand have deepened their affection for one another.
They spent their time both training on their individual innate element and sharing their love for one another.
One day Kendra sent Xanthu to where Lancelot was. The latter went in search for him asking around until he was led to where Lancelot was.
Lancelot was busy creating a whirling storm of fire and wind which raised the temperature of the room in which he stayed.
Xanthu couldn't enter ordinarily, he had to create a field of the water element around him.
He entered with great care and delivered his message.
"Her highness seeks your presence at once,"
Xanthu said, rushing his words and turning to go.
Lancelot nodded, he got up and followed Xanthu.
They both left his room and moved past a couple of rooms, they soon got to where Kendra was.
There were other sea soldiers of different kinds gathered there.
The presence of Lancelot stirred up a lot of conversation as he entered.
Over the course of the few months he had spent there, they've heard of all the things he had done via Dice, who couldn't keep his mouth shut, not keep the juicy secrets to himself but In a bid to socialize with the other underwater creatures, he had to find topics worthy of discussing to hold their
interests.
Over time they grew to delight in Lancelot, upon hearing of his outstanding deeds and the great destiny he shoulders.
The room was a little noisy as he entered, following Xanthu from behind, whose presence brought a sense of oppression.
They all kept quiet immediately.
Kendra looked towards Lancelot with a smile,
"it's time to start your training, are you ready?",
Lancelot nodded slightly and took a seat close to Kendra without being asked to sit.
In truth, Lancelot had developed an unnatural affection for Kendra.
After being rescued and cared for by Kendra, he had this feeling towards her that he could not explain, and he didn't mind that she was two millennia ahead of him in age.
He had not made his interest known but every time he looked at Kendra, his face was filled with longing.
Kendra had not noticed this but she felt he was so drawn to her and would always obey her promptly.
She didn't take it as anything serious she liked that attitude from him, it made things easy for her.
He on the other hand had other ideas that were deeper than just mere longing.
"The first training we would go through today would be water element infusion. As the chosen one, you should be able to control the water element easily, but your control would come from your ability to infuse the water element. In the same way, you were able to infuse the air element and the beast element."
"To do this you need to create a connection between you and the water element nation, and the best place to do it is here."
Kendra got up, and Lancelot did the same, she then pointed to the ground,
"Kneel and use your hands to connect with the ground to enter a deep meditative state".
Lancelot did this without question.
He closed his eyes and connected with the water nation sea.
As he did, nothing happened initially, but in about the 30th minute of concentrated focus, a blue ethereal coating could be seen moving around his body.
The water element danced around him. The myriad of fishes swimming past, suddenly stopped. The energy radiating from him was like that of a new shark entering the ocean.
He then opened his eyes and they alternated between red, white, and blue, as his iris kept changing color.
"Very good,"
Kendra said with a smile,
"We can start the main training tomorrow, you can go"
As Kendra was about to leave, Lancelot reached out and he held her left hand softly,
"Please can I see you in private?, I have an important matter to discuss..." Lancelot asker Kendra.
Xanthu was particularly appalled by the unwarranted touching by Lancelot on Kendra and wanted to hack his hands to pieces, but a look from Kendra stopped him.
Kendra's soldiers have become so connected with her that, all it took was a look for them to understand her message.
They cherish her like a queen and would gladly lay down their lives for her, anything else matters not to them.
They had spent a millennium waiting for her return upon hearing she was dead.
They waited in the place she had created for them and never revealed themselves to the outside world.
They trained every day as if nothing had happened, waiting for her return with faith and perseverance.
On the day she finally appeared, they couldn't believe it even when they saw her in person, since then, they had taken the liberty to throw themselves on the line for her, the queen of the seas.
Seeing Lancelot holding her hand carelessly sparked a reaction from Xanthu who restrained himself upon making eye contact with Kendra.
Kendra withdrew her hand from Lancelot's grasp and followed him nonetheless.
Kendra was confused but also curious as to what Lancelot wanted to see her for and the light touch on her hand had brought some memories she had tried so hard to bury.
