Chapter 13: Power hook!!!
Lancelot, Cherry, Dice, and Kendra all ventured deep into the forest of the beast nation for two reasons:
One, was to find the legendary hook of the beast nation, while the other, was to get to the water nation in the shortest possible time.
That being said, going through the beast nation forest was not without its challenges.
A lot of beast souls who haven't been able to rest had lingered and gained bodies of monstrous animals, they roamed the forest aimlessly, with an eye for only one thing, which was to destroy anything that doesn't look like them.
The first few beasts they encountered had been easily dealt with but as they progressed, the beast's proved to be rather more challenging to deal with.
They managed to get to where the hook was, it hung on a tree way taller than other trees in the forest, and for some reason, the beast monsters were drawn to it.
A large scorpion the size of two huge bulls that were merged, stood in front of the hook.
The scorpion had the upper half of a man, from his waist to its head while its legs were that of a scorpion with stingers distributed around it.
Kendra was the first to make a move as she had done so often in previous battles.
Dice had grown to work with Cherry.
The sight of Cherry's naked body still lingered in his memories, yet he couldn't easily forgive her attack on him during the approach of the forest's entrance.
He was in a weird dynamic as he stared at Cherry longingly and with a hint of mischief.
For some reason Cherry always caught him staring but he always looked away just in time.
She never pushed because of Kendra who had always warned them about their outburst and their need to be a team.
They had tried working together, but their relationship was strained to the point where there was no trust between them.
Dice was only drawn on his lust for Cherry while Cherry had a deep hatred for Dice.
Nonetheless, they managed to form a perfect partnership when needed, assisting one another during battle and combining to take down dangerous foes.
They started to trust each other little by little but it was a far cry from anything real.
The scorpion beast jumped at them and released a thick green fluid, this fluid was poisonous, and its corrosive nature could be seen as it turned the shrubs of plant within that vicinity into shredded pieces that could not even be tangible enough to be felt or seen.
Lancelot had been practicing his air control to be able to wield it effectively.
He had once managed to combine it with the fire element to defeat the air nation soldiers in a brute show of strength that surprised even his sister who had gotten used to his monstrous abilities.
However, he hadn't practiced the use of his air element as much as he should have and had made it redundant, but with battle experience in the forest, he had a more time and opportunity to train with it.
Kendra created a water protective coat that diverted the green poison away from the others onto nearby shrubs and bushes that were shredded into nothingness upon contact.
Kendra could easily single-handedly kill the scorpion but for battle experience, she would delay that, and allow the others to face it until they were exhausted or in a pitiful state before she would decide to step in.
Dice and Cherry worked together simultaneously as they have done over the last two hours in facing off several beasts, some of which they had been lucky enough to even land a blow, and to others, they were simply powerless against them.
Cherry created swirling fire, moving her hands in a pretzel motion, this created a forward motion that made fire swirl around her like a merry-go-round mini display.
Instinctively, Dice moved his hands to draw the blood of the scorpion beast from the various parts of the body to its chest, making the chest swell slightly.
Dice has a low level of blood elemental control so he couldn't pull together all the blood of the beast, but just enough to deal a painful blow.
Cherry then sent the flames to the protruding area around the beast's chest where blood had converged. The area darkened as it cooked but this was merely a grease to the huge beast.
Simultaneously without allowing that attack to cool, Lancelot released a mixture of air and fire, knitted so tightly it was impossible to tell them apart, a skill he had now named the 'wind-inferno',
The attack met the beast and created a hole in its chest, but the hole closed as if it was nothing.
The beast then charged towards Lancelot who was in front of the group and swiped at the water barrier protecting him.
He pushed so much into its attack, but its hands just collided with the water which was like liquid steel, causing the hands of the beast to break from the clash.
Kendra then stepped forward but before she could attack, Lancelot spoke, "Please let me handle this",
Kendra was amazed by this statement, however, she simply nodded with a smile, wondering what Lancelot had in mind.
Lancelot entered a state of deep meditation right there, drawing on the element of fire, wind, and beast, he created tiny fireworms that
carried tiny orange crimson flames,
"The god fire",
Even Kendra joined the surprised Cherry and Dice to chant.
The worms shot out from his hands and penetrated the body of the scorpion beast, noticing the change in the attack, the scorpion beast tried to retreat and resist but to no avail.
In less than 3 seconds it disappeared into nothingness, thoroughly destroyed, leaving the jaws of everyone around, agape,
Before they could even celebrate, a huge anaconda snake-like beast emerged from the spot where the scorpion had been killed, focusing on no one but Lancelot it moved with such terrifying speed towards its target.
