These kind of humans, brainless and dumb followers of their deities, were the kind that Rylex hated the most. They were unrighteous, but partook in evil deeds all in the name of glorifying their god.
She smiled as she stared down upon the pool of gore and blood below, her eyes remained lukewarm and serene without a trace of emotion. After a while, she turned around and waved her hands in the direction of a certain building.
Shrieks and shouts were heard, then the sound of flesh being ripped apart from bone and an eerie, bone chilling silence. The silence lasted for only a split second, before another round of shrieks and yells were heard from a building just across it.
Syx was stunned as she gazed down upon the pool of blood beneath her, and heard the shrieks of terror from the building around her. Her face grew pale as time flew by, and the commotion spread like wildfire.
Dashing out of the buildings whilst screaming with tears in their eyes were men and women, some were dismembered by some unknown entity while others were unscathed but bathed completely in blood.
"Rylex, what did you do to them? What did you do that left them so unsettled?" Syx asked as her tone grew a tad bit colder than usual, her gaze sharp as she stared daggers into Rylex's back.
Rylex smiled.
The cold night wind blew over her face, shuttling her hair to the side as she kept her hand suspended mid-air, her lips raised faintly. After a while, she dropped her hands and spoke out softly.
"Since they wanted to kill Jack so badly, I just messed with them a little. Although some managed to escape the surprise, none of them are leaving this place alive. None of them are getting past me."
Rylex's slight smile suddenly fell apart as she turned around to glare back at Syx, her gaze was threatening and murderous. A fire of wickedness was kindled in her heart, groomed to become a wild force of doom.
"We both know that there's nothing you can do about it Syx, nothing except to sit back and enjoy the show - a rare sight, of me massacring these bugs."
Syx furrowed her brows lightly at Rylex, but stayed still without moving an inch away from where she floated. Her eyes narrowed upon noticing the crazed gleam in Rylex's eyes.
"Rylex, whatever you're thinking about… Don't act on it! No matter the situation, don't discard your sanity!"
Rylex paused for a few seconds, but after a while she shook her head, and smiled sweetly. The smile was a bit peculiar, seemed to be a mixture of insanity, a bit of sanity, melancholy, pain and joy.
"I remember that day, when me and Freya were taken by the death god. The day that I watched my friend burn to death after being used by these filthy mortals…" Rylex seemed to be recalling an old memory, and a smile surfaced on her face.
"So this isn't about Jack?" Syx was very interested in Rylex's story, but seeing her strange expression, the dragon girl decided against it. She just spared a glance at the escaping followers of death, and sighed.
"At least, I tried."
——
Falling, he was still falling… Jack tried calculating how long he had been falling for, but he gave up halfway. Although he had stopped calculating the time and distance, he was still a bit aware of his surroundings.
"Installing a more powerful thrusting force boost would have come in handy in this situation…"
Jack pushed a few buttons on the side screen control panel of his vehicle and frowned deeply. After a few seconds of tweaking, he redirected the focus of a few surveillance cams from the anterior of his vehicle to the posterior.
This was to allow his get a good view of the situation below and behind, his vehicle. If any sudden problems were to appear, he would see and hopefully evade or deal with it in due time.
"It's been over five minutes now, and the descent has not come to an end… Had I accidentally wandered into some trap of some sorts? An endless abyss?" Jack was a bit confused, his brows furrowed as he scratched his cheek with his index finger. A frown was drawn across his delicate face.
He sighed, he felt like smashing his head against a wall but was unable to. Like a torrential wave being released upon a flat terrain, boredom gushed out of his soul and mind, weakening his defense.
Jack yawned helplessly, not knowing whether to even laugh or cry at his situation. Everything would have been worse, but his thoughts of the others behind him passing through was he was passing through now, was what made him hand on to his sanity.
"But, what if they aren't passing through what I'm going through right now?" Jack suddenly wondered to himself, "What if, they had actually seen me fall over the road and had smartly found another way?"
What… If?
Jack's smile froze, and the corner of his eyes twitched without warning. After a while, his expression turned somewhat mixed, a mix of numerous expression from disbelief, shock, anger down to pain and helplessness.
Despite all this, it would be very easy for him to break the limits of his vehicle and drag himself out of the mess he had driven down into. After a few seconds of free falling, Jack's eyes sharpened as e punched a few button and drew in a deep breath.
[Searing Wheels!]
As soon as the skill was activated, the tires of Jack's vehicle began to spin at terrifying speeds whilst still falling down uncontrollably. If the car was on land, the terrain
After a while of watching the tires spin through a surveillance screen, Jack's eyes shone as he pushed a button besides the array of screens, the text on the button read –[Alternate Accelerate]!
As soon as the button was tapped on, Jack's vehicle jerked forward without warning, and with the effect of [Searing Wheels] still active, his car was fired forward at high speeds!
"With this ability active, I am definitely sure of my ability to blast out of this situation!" Jack thought to himself as he sighed deeply, wondering how it was for those who were ahead of him.
"Hehe."
