Kingdom of Elpis
Krosinia Town
The town was buzzing with activity. The hustling and bustling of the townspeople could be heard everywhere. Everyone was busy with their work. The marketplace was located at the square of the town. The town was protected by high walls with forest surrounding it. The guards were guarding the main entrance. A blanket of mist surrounded the city, creating a serene environment.
"Such a lovely day to just sit back and relax, but here I am, buying groceries and stuff, slaving like a mule" Rachel sighed. Her mouth was turned into an upside frown as she mused in these thoughts. Her black kittle was lightly brushing the ground as she tried adjusting her black hair into a ponytail, her green eyes looking everywhere with curiosity.
The sun was above her head by the time she finished her shopping. As she was returning home, she was a little bit distracted and she stumbled upon a stone and fell to the ground. Thankfully, her groceries were safely packed in the bag so they were not spoiled. As she got up from the ground and dusted herself, a wound formed on the skin of her hand, with blood slowly trickling from it. A nearby shopkeeper rushed to her and checked if she was fine. As he saw her wound, he took out the bandage from the first aid kit kept in his shop and dressed her wound.
He said" What were you thinking about, young lass? Something troubling you?"
"Ah, I was just a little bit distracted by the surroundings. Thank you were helping me, Sir. "
She said as she blushed a little in embarrassment.
"Thankfully nothing is spoiled, else you would have to go through the trouble of buying all the groceries again"
"Ah, I was just lucky. Fate was by my side, so nothing major happened."
"Hahaha, fortune favours the brave. Your own choice caused this consequence, my girl"
"No sir, whatever happens, happens because it is written in our destiny" saying this, she picked up her groceries and left.
"But if you had paid attention to the road, you could have saved yourself from this fall. Nothing is set in stone. You write your destiny yourself." the old man whispered, his words carried away by the wind.
