Zach's POV. Part two.
Luckily Claire seemed to understand the situation and didn't try to make things worse. I don't know if I should feel sorry for her considering that.
I was wearing all black and my face was covered so I didn't need to worry about her identifying me.
So, I got right into questioning her.
I moved her over to a chair that was in her room, it looked like a high-end reading chair. It was stained wood most likely of high quality and a red velvet type fabric wrapped around it.
Once she was comfortable on the chair, I still had my hand over her mouth to make sure that she didn't scream. I looked at her in the eyes with all seriousness and spoke.
"Please don't scream when I remove my hand. I don't want to be here either." I said with as much empathy as I could.
"Nod, if you understand."
"NOD." "NOD."
"Good." I said and slowly removed my hand.
I moved my hand away slowly and just like she promised, she didn't utter a word of protest she just had almost a dead look in her eyes. Almost like I was going to do something unforgivable to her, and she had resigned herself to that fact already.
I wanted to clear her doubts about that.
"I am not going to assault you don't worry. I just need to ask you a few questions about your brother." When I mentioned that her eyes seemed to regain some sparkle and her shoulders weren't as slumped.
"You can ask anything you want about that piece of shit." She whispered with disdain.
I was taken aback a little by this because I thought their relationship was pretty good. I guess I was wrong. Hopefully I would be able to get even more information out of her with how much she seems to hate him.
"Okay then. First why do you seem to hate him so much." I asked. I figured that would be a good base to start with.
"Seriously." She said with a sarcastic tone. "He is a greedy bastard that rapes women and wants everyone in my family dead, just so he can inherit everything. What is there to like about him."
"Shit. Well do you have any evidence of his rapes that would help take him down. I am already trying to ruin him and if you hate him as much as you say you do. You wouldn't be dumb enough not to gather evidence." I said, I wanted to gather hard evidence.
"Tch. Like I would believe that. For all I know your just saying all of this just to rape me and then leave." She said shocking me with the amount of hate she had in her voice.
"Look! I don't give a fuck about you! However, your brother has fucked with the wrong people, and I have been ordered to take him the fuck down! So do you have any evidence on his covered-up crimes or not!" I bellowed loud but not loud enough to alert security, just enough to scare her.
It seemed that did the trick because she tensed up all of a sudden and darted her eyes over to the side of the room. There like a boring cliche heist movie was a painting that honestly didn't match the decor of her bedroom. I looked at her and her eyes were so dark that they seemed to hold no emotion.
I knew that I had found where the evidence once, whether she meant to help or not.
I walked over to the painting carefully took it off its hook. There was a safe behind it and I looked back at Claire, basically asking for the code.
"1223." She said in a dead tone.
I punched it in, inside were a bunch of papers and documents. I took them all, I didn't want to spend more time in here than I had to.
I looked back at Claire as I made my way out the room.
"I will put this to good use. I promise." I said but received no response.
"Have a good night miss Claire. " I said leaving the room and then heading out of the estate.
