Zach's POV.
Eve was right she came here with her friend to dance and have fun. I didn't want to ruin that for her, but I had a bad feeling that if I left her something bad would happen.
Luckily, I didn't have to be in a dilemma for long since Eve took my hand to follow her along. So, I followed like an obedient puppy.
"Come on Zach dance with me." She said with a joyous smile on her face.
"Of course, dear."
Once again whenever I was dealing with Eve all of my bravado immediately vanished and I became just a lost wounded dog.
If my enemies or subordinates ever found out about this my respect would crumble and wither away.
But if it pleased her than I was fine with it.
Throughout the night we danced, drank and chatted with each other. We completely forgot all of our worries and just spent time together.
I had completely forgot about Rose during that time and only remembered her when she came back with a guy hung on her arm. She went right back to chatting with Eve.
I was shocked to find that the man she brought back with her was none other than Mike. Yep, the same Mike that is my military contact and should have already left the club after dropping the files off to me.
He was sitting next to Rose with a huge grin on his face like he had won something.
He secretly pointed to Eve and mouthed.
'Is that her. Your wife looks great. The guys are going to love this.' he mouthed towards me knowing full well that it would irritate me.
I wanted to act like we didn't know each other so I stuck my hand out for him to shake.
"What's your name man." I tried to say as friendly as I could.
He looked taken aback for a moment but then he seemed to catch on to what I was doing.
"The name's Mike. What about yours." He said playing along.
Now that we had 'introduced' ourselves there was no longer an awkward atmosphere around us. However, there was a lull in the conversation as neither one of us were sure about what to talk about.
Thankfully Rose and Eve were feeling tired of the club and wanted to head home.
"Let's head home sweetie." Eve said with a sultry wink.
I was feeling heat gather into my loins and my heart rate went faster. She was so cute when she was drunk. I looked up towards Mike and Rose and saw that they were making out feverishly, groping each other all over.
It was very clear that they needed to get a room and apparently so did Eve and me. So, I took her by the hand and headed for the exit.
I was beginning to think that this night was going to end very nicely, and Th worry in my gut was me just being overprotective of Eve. Oh, how I was wrong.
As we neared the exit, I saw someone that I have been monitoring and seeing nearly every day.
Fucking James Williams standing there with a smirk on his face.
'God why couldn't he just chill the fuck out, seriously.' I thought as I gripped Eve's hand tighter.
"Oh, my wonderful Eve what a surprise to see you here." He said with a disgusting smile.
I was about to say something in retaliation when I was surprised to see that Eve was going to say something. I have to say that drunk Eve is a lot bolder than usual.
"Fuck off jackass!" She screamed at James.
Shocking everyone including me.
