Again, he ignored her. It would have been fair if she had succeeded in getting something from him. The ascent to their office was awkward. He kept a straight face and didn't look her way once.
When he went straight to his own office without saying a word to her, she knew she had the same mistake all over again.
She could barely concentrate on the reviews before her on the table. She could have easily gotten what she wanted and raced back to her mother's maiden home. Her sisters would give her a round of applause and her mother would congratulate her for accomplishing the mission and then everything would be over. She would leave Havana and never return.
But it wasn't happening. Lust had blinded her and carried her away. She was lusting after a cursed wolf prince. Maybe she was sick in the end. There had to be a justifiable reason, no matter how childish it would sound.
