Chapter 12 - Chapter 11 ( Going to School )

He walked towards the exit, leaving Obed behind, and disappeared into the corridor beyond.

As Liam walked away, he couldn't help but feel a pang of regret for his thoughtless comment. He knew Obed was only trying to help, and he appreciated his concern. Liam made a mental note to be more considerate in the future, to avoid hurting his friend's feelings again.

Liam finally arrived at school after a grueling journey that lasted over two hours. The road was surprisingly smooth, with minimal traffic, making the drive relatively comfortable. However, despite the favorable conditions, they still didn't manage to arrive at school any earlier than usual.

The school's remote location was a significant factor in their arrival time. Liam's home was situated far from the school, making the daily commute a lengthy one. As a result, even with optimal driving conditions, the journey still took a considerable amount of time.

As the driver navigated the school's entrance, Liam gazed out the window, taking in the familiar surroundings. The school's car park was bustling with activity, with students and teachers milling about. The driver expertly maneuvered the vehicle into a parking spot, and Liam gathered his belongings, preparing to disembark.

With a sense of relief, Liam stepped out of the car and stood at the side, watching as the driver pulled away. He took a deep breath, feeling the cool air fill his lungs, and began to make his way towards his classroom. The instruction had been clear: he needed to be present at school, and now that he was here, he might as well head to class.

Liam's feet carried him forward, his eyes scanning the surroundings as he walked. He passed by familiar landmarks – the school's administrative building, the library, and the cafeteria – before finally arriving at his classroom. As he pushed open the door and stepped inside, he couldn't shake the feeling of being unprepared for the day ahead.

Liam walked into the classroom, his eyes scanning the room for any signs of activity. He was relieved to find that the tutor was not present, as the previous lesson had just concluded. With a sense of calm, Liam made his way to his designated seat.

As he approached the table, Liam dragged his chair back, the sound of the legs scraping against the floor filling the air. He carefully placed his bag on the small rack beside his table, making sure it was secure and out of the way.

Next, Liam took a seat, feeling the familiar contours of the chair beneath him. He settled in, getting comfortable for the upcoming lesson. From his bag, Liam retrieved a notebook and some stationary, arranging them neatly on the table in front of him.

With his materials at the ready, Liam sat back in his chair, waiting patiently for the next tutor to arrive.

The classroom was quiet, the only sound the soft murmur of students chatting in hushed tones. Liam sat silently, lost in his own thoughts as he waited for the lesson to begin. Time seemed to pass slowly, but Liam was content to simply sit and wait.

As the minutes ticked by, Liam's gaze wandered around the classroom.

Despite the calm atmosphere, Liam's mind began to wander, thinking about the events of the day so far.

As his thoughts drifted, Liam's attention was drawn back to the present by the sound of footsteps outside the classroom. He looked up, expecting the tutor to arrive, but the door remained closed.

Liam's gaze fell back to his notebook, his mind beginning to focus on the upcoming lesson.

The wait continued, but Liam was patient, knowing that the tutor would arrive soon. He sat quietly, lost in his own thoughts, as the minutes ticked by at a slow and steady pace.

Rex and Emma were sitting in class, preparing for the next lesson, when they suddenly saw Liam walk in. They exchanged shocked glances, their eyes wide with surprise. Neither of them knew why Liam was here, as he had explicitly stated that he wasn't coming to school today.

Their minds racing, Rex and Emma wondered if their brother had asked Liam to come to school. Or had Liam decided to come on his own? They looked up at Liam, their gazes filled with questioning curiosity. However, as soon as their eyes met Liam's, they quickly averted their gazes.

Liam's expression was not inviting, to say the least. His face seemed to be saying, "I'm not up for any conversation right now." Rex and Emma sensed his unapproachable mood and decided not to push the issue. Instead, they focused on their notes, trying to make sense of the surprise turn of events.

As they sat there, Rex couldn't help but think about the events of the morning. Liam had been adamant about not coming to school, and yet, here he was. Rex wondered what could have changed Liam's mind, but he didn't dare ask.

Emma, on the other hand, was trying to process her own emotions. She was happy to see Liam, but at the same time, she was worried about why he had decided to come to school. Was everything okay? Had something happened?
