Nathaniel's hands were still resting in his pockets as he watched the light stains of blood on the carpet. That blood smelled unfamiliar and unpleasant.
The trail of blood lead him to Johaen's room.
"Joha! What the hell?!" Nathaniel said, in his confound deep voice filled with anger and worry for his companion. "What the hell did you kill?!!" he added with a disgusted look on his face due to the light stench in the air.
"Not 'Killed', and Not me Nathe." Johaen immediately clarified sensing the anger in Nathaniel's tone with his dark, ear length hair looking even sinister.
"It was Lester.." Dael cleared.
"Did somebody mention meee, Les-ter! Yep! That's my namee." Lester blabbered in his befuddled voice.
"What the hell happened?" Nathaniel asked in a calm tone that had huge amount of anger pooling behind it, his dark eyes narrowing when he looked at Lester and said "What's wrong with him?"
"We don't know Nathe?!" Johaen answered his voice filled with worry.
"You don't know!?" Nathaniel repeated in furious sarcasm with an eerie smile on his face.
"I mean, I don't know what's wrong with 'him'." Johaen clarified stressing on the word 'wrong'.
"I'll tell you what happened." Dael re-entered the conversation. "We were sitting on the Elder banyan's trunk enjoying the view and suddenly I noticed a weird vampire-"
"Not a weird vampire Dael." Johaen interrupted.
Dael ignored him and continued "At first I did think it was a weird vampire, I told these guys to look at him, he was eating grass?? or whatever. Can you believe that? Why would a carnivore eat grass?? It was so nasty and-"
"Shut up, I'll tell you the rest." Johaen interrupted again while looking at Nathaniel so he hears him.
"Rest, Yeah! Res-Rest in Peace.." Lester randomly blurted.
Everyone in the room stared at Lester for a second.
"Anyway.." Johaen said as he looked back at Nathaniel and ignored his friend Lester being super weird. "So I noticed there were two more-"
"Two more weird vampires.." Dael interrupted and completed the sentence, raising his hand a little with his index finger pointing up.
Johaen gave up and let Dael continue with his extra unnecessary details, while giving him an offended glare.
"One was wearing a red T-Shirt the other was-"
"Aah stop, I'll tell him!!" Johaen snapped with all the unnecessary details. "So apparently Dael thought It was a good idea to get to know them and make friends with them even though they were so weird in their behaviors and their ideas." Johaen paused.
Johaen pondered for a moment with the utmost confusion on his face, and continued "No they were entirely weird, and so they came up with this weird 'slit your wrist as a sign of friendship' notion, and we are familiar with the scent of many wounded vampires, but their blood's scent was extremely weird too." Johaen paused for a second.
Again with the same confused expression on his face, he continued "No Mann.. the whole time we spent with them was weird." He lost track on the weird part long before.
"Just soo weird..." Johaen whispered with his deep red eyes looking into Nathaniel's dark cold eyes.
Nathaniel was sitting there staring at his friend with an entirely confused expression, his eyebrows raised.
"You guys are still in shock, I don't think any of you would be able to tell me a thing in your current state. Let's talk tomorrow so I know what actually happened." Nathaniel concluded with a look at Johaen, that gave Johaen chills.
"On top of that, you guys ruined my rug too.." Nathaniel gave them a deadly glare, while they were standing like puppies being scolded.
"It was Dael! He dragged Lester in without being careful." Johaen pointed at Dael to save himself.
"Heyyy!" Dael frowned at the betrayal..
"What are you guys, a bunch of old ladies.. You couldn't lift a single vampire? that you had to drag him all the way to this room. Not even both of you together.." Nathaniel said pointing his index finger at both of them.
"It was gross Nathe!" Dael defended himself.
"Yeah it smelled weird Nathe.." Johaen agreed to put up with his little betrayal back then.
"Joha wouldn't even touch him Nathe, Do you even know how hard it was for me to drag him with his legs, all the way to Joha's room and on this beanbag." Dael said trying to get back at Johaen this time.
"Both of you. Joha's bedroom's couch is quite huge." Nathaniel said out of the blue, looking at the couch while sitting on the bed.
"So?" Dael asked in a confused tone.
Nathaniel said authoritatively "Sleep here tonight, and make sure he doesn't do something till he dies-"
"DIES?!" Johaen and Dael screamed together with their brows lifted in tension. They were so worried about the situation that they didn't even realize, they were sitting on the floor the whole time.
"Or till he gets back to his senses." Nathaniel completed his sentence swinging his palm lightly. He thought he got a bit of a hint of what was going on already.
Johaen said "Can we-"
"No, his sister will be baffled when she sees that her brother forgot basic drinking manners, with all that blood around his mouth."
"But!-" Johaen tried to make his way out.
"He will stay here tonight." Nathaniel gave the ultimatum. "And get washed, both of you. You guys reek.." He added.
"It's him, not us.." Johaen snapped back.
"Oh, only he has those smelly blood stains on his palm.." Nathaniel said with a mocking smile. To which Both Johaen and Dael looked at their wrists.
"Alright.." Dael gave up and obliged, too worn out by the incident.
All of them looked back at the corner of the room to check on Lester, who had already fallen asleep on the bean bag during their conversation.
Johaen took a long sigh and prepared for shower.
There were two bathrooms on the parallel walls, in this huge room. Dael was a close friend of Johaen and regularly visited his place, he was familiar with the room.
Johaen opened his closet randomly picked a T-shirt and tossed it towards Dael.
Dael caught the T-Shirt and went to the bathroom on the right.
Meanwhile Nathaniel still sitting on the huge bed, took an inspective look on Lester who was lying on the bean bag afar.
Nathaniel then stood up and pulled out a tissue from a box kept on the side table. He went towards the sleeping Lester and slightly pressed the tissue beside his lip, just enough to get a little amount of blood on the tissue. He then folded it into a small fold but did not keep it in his pocket, Just held it in his wrist.
Nathaniel waited for Johaen to come out of the shower, Dael was still bathing and singing a sad song which could be heard outside.
Nathaniel then closed the door of the room and went back to his room.
He picked a small wooden box from the table and kept the tissue in it, closed it well so no smell could escape.
He laid down on his bed with his feet hanging, touching the floor carpet, while playing with the little box in his hands in the air.
He looked at the little box in his hand and said "If this is what I think this is, then you are in great trouble Lester."
