Jason couldn't reply ,he just stood there quietly staring at her.she didn't recognize him?, he was so nervous and she couldn't even tell it's him.His eyes travelled to her fingers but didn't see what he was hoping to see.she didn't have the ring either?did she maybe throw it away?
"excuse me,mister?"she waved her hands Infront of his face to get his attention "are you alright?can I help you?"
Jason still kept quiet,Celina was beginning to wonder if he was mute.just then zain arrived in his car
"hey princess"
'oh no ,he is actually here?and this early?'celina thought
zain had called her hours ago that he will pick her up for their date ,which was pretty surprising because Celina thought he looked really mad this morning but she just concluded that maybe he was going to punish her using the 'date 'as an excuse. That's why when she stepped out ,she was thinking that she was probably going to wait for him for hours that is if he even decided to show up ,but he actually came ontime? really strange. Wait....what if he actually came on time so he could make the date as frustrating than ever especially if he began his tormenting early?And what about his friends?....she wasn't ready for any of that today.
"This stupid brat"she murmured
"Are you deaf?"zain asked coming out of his car"who is he?"he asked nodding towards Jason
Turning to Jason ,a crazy idea popped in to Celina's mind to dodge Zain's date.
"mister, I might need your help"she whispered to Jason"please just help me and I will pay you.....or do anything you ask.please?"she added when Jason remained silent.
He didn't reply but just nodded his head in approval.what the heck was wrong with him?had he suddenly lost his voice?. Celina on the other hand was surprised when Jason didn't even ask what she wanted and just agreed,weird guy.
Lina entwined her hands with Jason's and smiled towards zain
"He is my boyfriend and we are going out"Celina said calmly
Jason's eyes widened a bit and zain gazed at the man next to Lina and next looked at there hands before he finally looked at Lina
"I didn't know you had a boyfriend "zain said not looking shocked at all,well he didn't really mind it since they were not really married ....yet.
"well now you know. This is my boyfriend... Andrew "Lina introduced 'Andrew 'to zain
Jason forced a smile not knowing what to do or say.
"you can go on your little picnic for today. I wasn't in the mood for a date anyway"zain said and left in his car .
'Date?were they supposed to have a date?so that only means that guy was zain? Celina's to be husband?'jason thought as he stared at the disappearing car.
"Am sorry about that"Celina said to Jason who still didn't reply"can you even speak?"Celina asked thinking he was actually mute
"yes, I can"Jason replied
"Then why didn't you...sigh ,forget it. Anyway am really sorry about that and thank you for your help. do you need anything from me?"
"yes. Actually I am new in town and I don't know my way around . I am lost"
"oh"
"can you help me find my way again?"
"sure,do you know the name of the place where you were heading?"
"I do but you still have to pay me for helping you. remember?"
"How much do you want "?
"A meal "
"huh?"
"I would like you to buy me a a meal,if you are not busy"
"I thought you wanted to find your way home"
"I did but am hungry and I have no cash. But am also used to eating with someone so I would like you to pay me by having lunch with me"
"I ....."Celina hesitated for a while
"it's okay if you are busy."Jason said in a sad tone. He looked really sad so Celina decided to go with him. Besides he just helped her and he wasn't really asking for much
"Am not busy. Let's go,I will have lunch with you if that's what you want"
"Thank you"Jason smiled widely
'why is he so happy?and why did he look so damn familiar?'celina thought
Strangely she didn't feel scared or threatened by this stranger at all.she felt very comfortable around him and his presence felt a little too familiar too.
"what is your name?"Celina asked as they walked to the restaurant, since she couldn't bring her car because zain was to pick her up but the restaurant wasn't that far so she didn't complain neither did this guy seem to mind ,he even seemed ..... happy to be walking
"Andrew"Jason replied to her question
"No I mean your real name "
"you can just call me Andrew"
"if you don't want to tell me then it's fine"
"I hope you are not upset"he said looking concerned
"Am not"
"really?"
"yes,am not angry. I understand and it's okay if you don't trust me"
Jason suddenly stopped in his tracks which caused Lina to stop too. He stared into her eyes and said"I do trust you"An awkward silence fell between them before Celina spoke
"Have we...met before?"Lina asked as she stared back at him
