Chapter 27 - False allegations

" Blood" her lips quivered, her heartbeat accelerated, and she had a bad feeling about everything going on, there was just this sensation that made her convulse in his last statement.

She wasn't someone to be easily intimidated by that kind of threat, but this time it was different. there is this unusual feeling she couldn't fathom. Sighing at her luck, she couldn't help but think this was all a punishment for her misdeeds, but for what sin has she committed so grave that she had to receive such dire punishment?

Her eyes met with that of her sister who looked like she had betrayed her... No, not only her but the entire hydes that dwelled within. She wiped the blood from her lips using the back of her hand and balled her fists ever so hard, that her veins popped out like it was going to tear out any moment now.

"When we're you going to tell me?" she asked all of a sudden making Bacillia stupefied for a moment.

" I thought...we were siblings?" she queried with a rather hurtful look and then sighed.

"How could you hide such a big thing from me?" she staggered towards her, as her bones were still healing from the terrible throw... and it took longer to heal because of the demonic energy that lurked within her due to the time he used in strangling her.

" so you... You've... been meeting with that demon for quite some time now? Bacillia have you forgotten the one who slayed the former Emperor, tried to take over our realm, enslave our people and use us of our resources." she lectured looking quite disappointed.

" you've fought against them yourself, As the Supreme commander who has gone through wars for millennials and governed the land for quite some time now, you know the demons better than I do," she coughed up blood again and at this sight, Bacillia quickly went to her aid but she was yanked off by Alrak, who was not healing at a normal pace.

" so now you want to betray us? Do you finally see us as unworthy to be governed, or ashamed of us for we are weak, nothing in comparison to the demon you were about to sell your body to, to acquire power for yourself and yourself alone" she sneered. " you should be ashamed of yourself Bacillia! " she spat.

" Why would you think such of me Alrak? Do you see me that way?" she maintained her serene demeanor, but deep down she wants to tear her apart for her absurd utterance...

" Everything I saw, from afar confirms my allegations sister"

" you were getting intimate with an enemy!" she declared as her eyeballs bulged from their sockets.

" No, well... Yes, but..." she bit her lower lip and evaded her gaze.

"But what?" she scoffed.

" it isn't what it looks like, so stop acting like you know everything Alrak" she retorted in her usual serene attitude.

" yes, Xavier is my mate, and it's isn't something I have control over sister."

" The fact that Xavier is my mate doesn't mean that I shall stand against or betray my people, for I have decided to war instead of bedding a monster." she sighed and moved closer to Alrak in steady steps.

" war?" she laughed again causing blood to ooze out from her lips.

" yes war," she originated a seed from her palm after she muttered some words under her breath.

The seed was whitish with a simple black dot in the middle, Alrak noticed it and knew what it was immediately, but before she could react Bacillia shoved the pill into her mouth. The cracking sounds of bones could be heard, only this time it was healing because of the pill Bacillia gave her.

She coughed and stared at Bacillia stupefied by her swift action. She didn't like it but had to go with the flow...

" That should help you heal faster" Bacillia smiled gleefully at her.

"Please Alrak do you promise to keep this a secret?" she requested.

" Tell me everything" she smiled back but without any emotion being displayed on her face.

Bacillia sighed, she knew she could trust her sister, after all, she needs someone to let it all out, so some of the burdens could be lifted off her chest.

" I've never heard of a mating bond between two different species before" she looked thoughtful for a moment.

" yes, I know. And I'm probably sure this is the first, it's very uncommon to the hearing." Bacillia supported.

" I'm starting to think... This is a curse"

"Maybe I'm a sinner, maybe this... This is just my penalty for what I have committed" she said, but was sure it was nonsense that came out of her lips.

She stared at Alrak who gazed at her in confusion, " do you have any doubts? Have you ever heard of such claims?"

It was then she realized non of the words came out of her lips, of course, they didn't, that idea was just ludicrous! sin? She scoffed at her absurd thinking, there is more to this mating bond than just a match made in heaven, she finalized.

Of course, there was no being who was pure, we all are sinners! But she was sure, so very sure there was nothing she could have done for her to be in this cursed state.

" I have never heard of such, sister. This is also my first" she said truthfully and heaved a deep sigh.

" the court should hear of this" Alrak said in a dry tone.

" You promised!" she fired, disrupting her serene act as she squeezed the corner of her face in irritation.

" I never did" she retorted.

" I know you won't, for we are blood Sisters, and I'm sure you care for me as much as I do,"

" Right?" her voice faint, her breaths hollow, her knees shaken, her temperature peaked, her pale skin reddened. She was unsure of her claims, she was unsure of everything these days, things were going to take a huge turn, oh that she knew! But what was all this feeling? Was something coming? Something bad?

" You said something about war if I'm correct?"

"What was that about?" she added.

" Do you promise to keep this a secret?" she asked once again.

" You said you trusted me just now, didn't you?" she replied.

" you didn't answer my question Sister" she arched her left brow, was she avoiding her question on purpose?

" do you trust me?" she asked knowingly

" Y... Yes I do" she stated in her reply, but she was unsure as she bit her lower lip.

" Good, now proceed"

She exhaled, " Xavier promised war because I refused for him to mark me as his, he wants me to join him in the underworld, he wants me to be by his side as his demon mistress, not only that, he wants to use me to find out the weakness of this realm sister, so he can use it to his advantage, and finally take over our empire once and for all "

" you know how the mating bond works, I am trying my fairest not to think of him, and to brush off the thought of being his, but it's not possible... I can't believe I'm saying all this" she chuckled dryly.

" you already have your mate Alrak, so you should know what I convey to you is authentic, I'm sure you know the feeling of being apart from him for a long is, it's very intolerable, but I try my best, my possible best to stay away from him, to act as much of a leader as I can."

" for millennials, I have seeked, I have waited, I have longed, I almost gave up thinking I shall never find my mate till I die, I kept myself pure nonetheless, there was something that gave me a dim light of hope that I'll find him one day, and I did, but now I regret ever meeting him, I regret ever knowing him, I regretted my life long wish, the wish that would soon bring suffering to my people, I'd rather I never found him" she conveyed those words ever so painfully, that one would assume she was on the verge of crying, but her facial expression denied it.

" so Xavier waged war against us?" that was what seemed to interest Alrak, for all her sister's unfortunate deck was none of her concern.

The wind blew past in a hustle, somewhat harsher than it was, then out came klat in his usual formal attire who stared at them in confusion, and then looked around before sething his silver sword.
