Gael POV
I have one year left to finish high school, I didn't want to spend the rest of my life with Mr. Matthew, I wanted to have an independent life, not that I didn't appreciate all that he has done for me, I did, he has been a father and mentor to me, he has never for once made me feel like an outsider, always wanting me to be the best, buying me the best, and encouraging me to do the best, he was one of the few people I was willing to succumb to,
I was sitting down in the school park, taking in its peacefulness and enjoying the calm humid weather, I love it when the cool breeze hit my face, it always makes me feel relaxed.
I turn my head to the side and notice the girl who bumped into me this morning, she seems to be doing something on the book she was holding,
I stretch my head a little longer so I would see what she was doing and satisfy my curiosity too.
she was drawing and it was so appealing and natural, "wow, you know how to draw so well," I didn't even know when I said that as she raised her head to see it was me, I couldn't help but noticed how beautiful her eyes were, it was a grey one and enticing just like her drawing.
"oh..., I'm sorry, I didn't... see you," she said covering the book she was drawing with,
"you didn't do anything wrong except for you not allowing me to see your artwork,"
"oh no..., I wasn't trying to hide it from you, I didn't know you would like it," she said, rolling her eyeballs which made me laugh, her dimples seems to be deeper anytime her smile widen,
"My name is Samantha, but you can call me Sam,"
"Gael, but you can call me Gael," I told her as a joke, I was glad she laughed at it, I wasn't really good at cracking jokes.
"I know who you are already," I know
she knew me already, I'm very popular even when I put in zero effort, my friends think is probably because of them, they were stars for our school basketball game and also the most popular playboys apart from mark who was just like me.
"you're Amanda's kind of brother... or something?" she asked waiting for me to arrange it for her,
"I'm her close friend, a childhood friend,"
I told her as she nodded,
"what were you drawing," I pivoted the discussion to her,
"It's the perfect view," she told me making me confused.
"huh...," she giggled at my confused face,
"take a look," she said coming to sit beside me.
"over here is the green nature, filled with colored flowers that are moving in the direction of the wind, jumping frogs...," she pointed out what she was saying,
"over here is the peaceful sea, and the sunshine and the beautiful white birds flying through the sky and the beautiful happy girl enjoying the perfect view,"
"wow, I'm amazed by how simple the name and picture are, it fits so well, did you only imagine it or you got your girlfriend to seat at a beach so you could draw this," I asked her, the drawing seems so real one couldn't help but doubt.
"It's all imagination,"
"I don't think I can draw my imaginations to a top-notch,"
"of course, you can, if your imagination is beautiful, then you can draw it beautifully.
"I'm painting It later,"
"wow, you paint too," I asked surprised that her artistic skills were so advanced.
"yeah,"
"you are really a veteran when it comes to art,"
"thank you,"
"what else do you do apart from painting or drawing,"
"I also make comics"
"Are they online, I would love to browse one of them,"
"They are just on papers now, I sell them to kids in my neighborhood,"
"you know, online will help people around the world to know more about your art, with your artistry skills am sure you can become famous,"
"Thanks, but I'm not planning on making it a career,"
"why," her face was down when I asked her that, it seems like something was stopping her,
"is it your parents,"
"no," she quickly revoked it
"I just don't see myself in that line of career,"
"but you're good at it,"
"That's why I want to try other things, something that I'll learn to be better in,
"that will be hard, you know,"
"Nothing starts easy when it comes to the matters of life," she told me, she seems like someone you can flow with.
"I think you're cool to hang out with can we do this tomorrow," I asked her
"it depends on the reason," she told me, although her expression seems like one that is happy about the idea,
"I want to talk more to you,"
"ok,"
"see you in the same spot tomorrow then," I told her hanging my bag with one hand, before walking away,
Matthew Pov
It was time for breakfast, I was the first to come to take my sit, I couldn't eat alone so I waited for them to join me,
"Good morning dad," my son greeted before taking his sit at his normal position.
"good morning uncle," Gael greeted, taking his seat
"good morning Daddy," Amanda greeted taking her seat at her normal position.
Linda was the last to come out, she didn't even say good morning to anyone, I don't mind either.
"so Amanda, I was wondering if you would love to come and tour the company this weekend, the only time you came to visit was when you were little and now that you're much older you should come to visit, you might one day manage it,
"And what about Samuel," Linda asked
"of course he will, he's my son," I told her patting Samuel's head
"because you seem to be forgetting that, when you were praising your daughter," I knew she was trying to start a fight, but I won't give her that pleasure today,
"Samuel is going for his basketball practice this weekend, and not as if I won't take him there someday," I snapped back at her
"you better make sure of that," she said taking a short dry before concentrating on her food,
I took a deep breath out shaking my head and smiling at my children when I saw them looking at me.
I didn't encourage fighting with her in front of my kids, so I just let it be, it's her lifestyle after all.
