Chapter 8 - Chapter 8

Amanda's POV

Gael haven't said anything since when we got into the car, he's been staring outside the car like he was in a world of his own, I decided to do something that might cheer him up,

"Can you take us to any nearby temple please," I told the driver relaxing back in my seat when he agreed,

"Why do you want to go to a temple," Gael asked me, raising one of his eyebrows in curiosity, as I shrugged my shoulders biting my lips while giggling sheepishly,

"I thought since qing ming hasn't ended yet and you are still feeling unhappy, we can go to the temple together, you know people go to the temple to gain peace you can also make a wish too," I explained to him, as he began to laugh,

"Why are you laughing," I asked feeling a little bit annoyed at him,

" you aren't even a Buddhist," he told me still laughing at what I had said,

"and so, that shouldn't be a matter at all," I said rolling my eyes, as he shake his head before returning back to his position,

we finally arrived the temple, it wasn't that big, but it look quite elegant from the view out, we notified the driver of the time we might be coming back in case he leaves to somewhere before walking towards the temple,

"Amitoufo," the Buddhist monk standing close to the entrance greeted placing both hands in a prayer pose and bowing low as we join him to do what he did and said,

you're welcome to our temple, a place where you can find peace and heal your inner soul," he said in the calmest and most peaceful tone I've ever heard,

"I and my friend came to make a wish," I told the monk, hugging Gael with his hand,

"Just kneel before the Buddha and tell him all you wish for," he said pointing towards the Buddha that was inside the temple,

we walk inside kneeling in front of the big Buddha statue, Gael seems to know what to do as I watched him bow three times before placing both hands in a prayer pose as I imitate his actions, I wished that one-day Gael would have feelings for me and that he will find a reason to be happy one day, I didn't have anything else to wish for so I just knelt down there till he was done with his,

we got up to take our leave when Gael was done with his as we put on our shoes before the Monk who welcome us approached us again on our exit.

"Amitoufo," he said, bowing to us as we did the same to him,

"Please endeavor to come back to the temple when your wish is granted," he said in a calm tone as before,

"We understand," Gael said as we bowed to each other one more time before walking away,

"you seem to know the ethics of praying as a Buddhist," I told him while we were walking to the car,

"that's because my dad and grandfather were one," he told me which made me surprised as that was the first time I was hearing that,

"so does that make you one," I inquired raising my eyebrow and giving him a quizzical smile, he chuckled after seeing my reaction,

"I don't think I'm into religion for now," he told me smiling one side of o

his cheeks,

"It's okay, I don't have a problem with it," I told him shrugging my shoulders, as we continue our walk silently,

"so what did you wish for," he asked making me roll my eyes, laughing hard, I possibly can't tell him that all my wishes were about him,

"I can't tell you that," I told him glancing away, my ears and cheeks were so red from blushing that I had covered it with a laugh,

"why won't you tell me," he said giving the warm radiant smile I always love to see on him,

"come o...n, I want my wish to come true, so don't expect me to tell you," I said, rolling my eyes and hoping that was a perfect excuse,

"what about your own wish," I teased knowing he won't tell me now that I haven't told him,

"listening to what you told me earlier, I do want my wish to come true, so don't me to tell you mine too," he said winking at me as we both laughed, I felt flattered after he winked at me but I try to restrain myself from showing any of my emotions, we finally reached where our car was parked as our driver sat in the front of the car waiting for us,

" Thanks for the help and concern you showed to me today," he said in an appreciative tone,

"it's no big deal, am glad I could be of help," I told him giving a short laugh,

"Can you not tell anyone including your father about my mother approaching me," he told me as my smile dropped wondering my he would ask me that,

"omm, can I ask why?" I inquired, giving him an upward gaze,

"I just feel like I could deal with it by myself, plus I don't want to get your father worried for no reason," he explain as I muttered an ohh, finally understanding his reasons,

"don't worry, you have my promise," I said raising one of my hands up,

"thank you," he told me.

"you're always welcomed," I reassured him, as he opened the car for me to get in before moving to the other side of the car to get in before the driver zoomed off.

Mathew POV

I was getting down of my car, when I saw Rebecca who is Gael's mother attempting to push pass my bodyguards, I told them to let her be since we were in public and I didn't want the media to start talking nonsense about me,

"what do you want now Rebecca," I told tired of attending to her,

"I want my son back," Rebecca yelled, as I heave a big sigh,

"you could have had him a long time ago, but you choose to let your greed control you, so please Rebecca, I don't want you to approach me anymore," I told her about to leave but she came blocked my front,

"I left because I was in need of money, you have no right to be telling my son bad things about me," she wailed making me roll my eyes,

"any who have eyes can see how stupid and greedy you are Rebecca, you are lucky no one is pressing charges against you," I told her pointing my second finger at her, I knew she was frightened when I said the last part because her eyes bulge out shifting away a little, I was about to walk away when the crazy lady started to hold me by my pant,

"give me back my child Matthew," she yelled dragging me by my pant,

"let go of me, you crazy woman," I struggled to get her hands away from my pant as my bodyguards did the same thing, we were finally able to get her hand away from me, as one of my bodyguards carried her away, I placed my hand on my chest, trying to keep calm after what happened, before walking away,
